Tiramisu in south JOCO/Olathe

a quick trip north to the city of mission's italian delight restaurant, 5622 martway (owned by the avelluto family), will end your friend's search for tiramisu. italian delight puts out good, basic italian food (love the health salad and calzones!) and is worth finding.

KC - Where to find sfogliatelle?

you can find these yummy little pastries at italian delight, in mission, kansas. the address is 6522 Martway St, Shawnee Mission - (913) 262-7564. they have a web site but it kept saying the link was broken when i tried to open it. their tiramisu is nothing to sneeze at, either.

anyone been to the bleu tomato in desoto, kansas?

just heard about it and the food sounds good. the owner is another graduate of the culinary program at the johnson county community college.

KCMO- Cafe Augusta

fyi, in biz, you do have to ask for the coffee "ice," otherwise you get regular ice. had a lovely chocolate croissant with my coffee the other morning. pastry was buttery and flaky. the chocolate was dark. yum. their pastry chef is a graduate of the culinary program at jccc.

KCMO- Cafe Augusta

a friend and i had coffee and pastry at cafe augusta this morning. i asked for iced coffee, which was very good. frozen cubes of coffee were used instead of regular ice. my friend had a lovely apricot danish, while i went for the cranberry/almond scone. both were warmed and served with butter and a fan-sliced strawberry. we saw the cute, very sunburned waitress transferring what we throught was honey from one container to another. nope, not honey, but homemade caramel sauce. she spooned some into a saucer for us to taste. a light drizzle over the scone was a perfect touch. all in all, a good experience and we'll go back again.

Kansas City, MO near Country Club Plaza

this is a very good recommendation. after buying the valomilk candy, be sure to put some in the freezer. a frozen valomilk is wonderful/g

hi, attran99, lenexa has a charming mom/pop place. actually, maybe just a mom place. the pie lady in old town lenexa. as a retired member of the lenexa pd, without reservation recommend her pies, and cookies, and quiches! true, the coffee's not the very best and there's only a couple of tables, but, oh, my, the pie makes it all worth while. enjoy/g
