Thanks! What kinds of tapas (seafood? meat? veg?) is Zelai known for?
Wanted: Top Suggestions for Granada, Tarifa, Sevilla, and Madrid -- Family with 3 Kids
Thank you! Not much about Tarifa on line or in tour books, so I appreciate your tips!

Thank you so much for the detailed reply! I will definitely check out some (if not all!) of these places!!
Wanted: Top Suggestions for Granada, Tarifa, Sevilla, and Madrid -- Family with 3 Kids
We will be driving through Spain next month, and spending a few nights in each of Granada,Tarifa, Sevilla, and Madrid. We have 3 school-age kids (one is a true foodie, the other two are less adventurous but often willing to try new things).
We have some very specific wants/needs with respect to dining recommendations:
- is open for business in August (since we will be in Spain in August, which I know is a time when many restaurants and cafes are closed!)
- in Madrid, we are staying near the Sol metro station, so would prefer places that are within walking distance from our hotel
- tapas bars -- MUST get to one in each of these towns! .... meat, seafood, veg, ... any specialties!
- churros and chocolate -- MUST try this!
- paella -- MUST try this!
- ice cream shops -- any good ones with locally-made ice cream?
We will have a rental car during our trip, so if there are any off-the-beaten local places near Granada, Tarifa, and/or Sevilla that are note-worthy for local eats, please let me know.
Thanks so much Chowhounders! You are the best! :)
So...What's the best thing(s) you ever ate in the Tampa Bay area? (spinning off of another FL post)
We'll be in the Tampa/Brandon on Christmas Day! Anyone know of a good family-style restaurant that would be open that night, and might have a good 'ole roast turkey dinner with all the fixings on their menu? Also, how does Buca di Beppo stack up, in comparison to other Italian family restaurants in Tampa or Brandon?
Family restaurants in Fort Lauderdale
I will be in Fort Lauderdale for a couple of days, and would like some suggestions for good family restaurants. Any cuisine is fine - Asian, BBQ, Cuban, American, Italian. A casual dining atmosphere is preferred (versus fine dining). I'll be in Dania Beach without a car, most likely, so proximity is a factor too. Many thanks!!
Need Cheap Authentic Cuban Food in Miami
I'll be passing through Miami (one day only), so I'm looking for recommendations for quick authentic Cuban food (lunch or dinner) for my family. And if the place is near the beach where we can walk to, that'd be a bonus. We also like BBQ, so any suggestions for that would be great too. Thanks.
Any good restaurants near Fenway Park?
Yeah, I wish there was a more direct route to the Portland area for Toronto folks. I've been told that it's either via upper state NY and Boston, or via Montreal and Vermont. 10 hours either route. Sigh.
Any good restaurants near Fenway Park? And any Five Guys Burgers around Boston?
Thanks for the tips everyone! Glad to see that there are some Five Guys fans outside of DC :-) I can only hope that they'll expand into Canada one day!!
Any good restaurants near Fenway Park? And any Five Guys Burgers around Boston?
I will be taking in a ball game at Fenway Park later this month, but I'm not familiar with this part of Boston. Are there any good (not too fancy) restaurants in the area, that would be suitable for kids too? Preferably within walking distance also. y cuisine, and the more Bostonian, or similar the better. Also, does anyone know if there's a Five Guys burger place anywhere near Boston? We had them in Washington for the first time earlier this year, and we've been craving them ever since!! Reposting on the Boston board -- thanks for the tip!
Any good restaurants near Fenway Park?
Thanks! We'll definitely check out Trattoria Toscana! I did find a Five guys listed in Marlborough, off the I-495, which is on our route (heading to Maine but passing thru Boston first) so that looks convenient for a lunch stop. Do you know if that one is open yet? The Dedham and Swampscott locations look close too.

Recs needed for Zamalek, near Cairo Marriott & Omar Khayyam Casino.
My family will be spending a couple of days in Cairo, Egypt this summer, and we'll be staying at the Cairo Marriott & Omar Khayyam Casino. This will be our first trip to Cairo, so I'd love some dining recommendations for Zamalek, preferably within walking distance of the hotel. I'm also interested in any reviews of the many restaurants inside the Cairo Marriott. We have 3 kids (a teen plus two younger ones) who are all adventurous eaters! Would love to try some traditional Egyptian food, and any other cuisine!! Thanks so much!
Best buffet in Vegas? [Moved from Elsewhere in America]
Thanks for the great comments! Is there much of a seafood selection (crab legs, lobster, shrimp, fish, scallops) at the Red Rock buffet? There prices look too good to be true, if in fact their buffet is at par with Bellagio's or Wynn's.
Best buffet in Vegas? [Moved from Elsewhere in America]
I'm heading to Las Vegas next month, and would like some tips on the best buffets. I will have no car and will be staying on the south strip. I was last in Vegas in 2003, so I would really like some info on the quality of the buffets at the newer resorts (Wynn, Planet Hollywood, etc) that did not exist back then. Also like to hear about any tried-and-true buffets that have been around for a while and still are worth trying. We'll likely have a couple of breakfast buffets and one dinner buffet -- wouldn't mind having a nice sit-down moderately-priced dinner during our stay too. Thanks for any help!!
Kid-Friendly Dinner near Theatre District
Are there any kid-friendly restaurants in or near (within walking distance) of the theatre district in Toronto? Any type of cuisine is fine (burgers, pizza, chicken, ribs, chinese, etc), and family-friendly prices would be a bonus! We like cook-your-own Korean BBQ -- is there a place like this nearby? I am also considering Wayne Gretzky's -- does anyone have any strong opinions of this place? Thanks for your help!
Needs dish suggestions for O-Mei and Fantasy Eatery
How much does the Lobster 4 Ways cost? Is it priced per pound or per person? And about O-Mei, is it better to make a reservation on the weekends? What about their lunch menu... similar to their dinner choices? All this talk about O-Mei's food is so tempting! I drive by it all the time, but never gave it a second thought ... until now ;-)
Weekend trip to Burlington and Montpelier, VT
Oh, yes, you're right! The other one is in Essex... I was mistaken. Anyway, thanks for the tip -- I think we will definitely stop by Winooski for a Thai lunch!! Yum!
Weekend trip to Burlington and Montpelier, VT
I've also come across mention of a Tiny Thai in Stowe... is this a chain restaurant? And, which location (Winooski or Stowe) is closer to Burlington? Thanks again.
Weekend trip to Burlington and Montpelier, VT
I'm also looking for a decent chinese restaurant in the Burlington or Waterbury/Stowe area. I've read a lot about A Single Pebble, but was wondering if there is another place that has good authentic chinese food and is reasonably priced (ambience and decor not that important!!). Thanks.
Weekend trip to Burlington and Montpelier, VT
I just found an older post about Myer's Bagel Bakery in Burlington -- has anyone tried these bagels and does this place make bagels like they do in Montreal (boiled in honey water, then baked)?
Weekend trip to Burlington and Montpelier, VT
A shot in the dark -- anyone know where I can get Montreal style bagels in Vermont??? Do any bakeries or grocery stores sell them in the Burlington/Montpelier area? Thanks!!
Weekend trip to Burlington and Montpelier, VT
Thanks to everyone for all the tips and recommendations! We're looking forward to our trip, and also can't wait to see the fall colours in the area. I've heard that I can find cider donuts somewhere in Waterbury... does anyone know where exactly this shop is? Thanks so much!
Weekend trip to Burlington and Montpelier, VT
We will be spending a weekend in Burlington and Montpelier next month, and would really like some recommendations for a lunch and dinner in each town. We have 3 kids (ages 13, 6,3) who have a great appreciation for food, so the sky's the limit! We'd also like to know of any fun and inexpensive stops along I-89 that may have some nice options for quick grab-and-go breakfast fare and/or lunch choices. Thanks very much!
SF with Kids ... need dining suggestions!
Thanks so much for such great suggestions! I've heard of some of these places through reading some travel guides recently, so it's nice to have a second vote! Thanks again!!
SF with Kids ... need dining suggestions!
We will be visiting San Francisco in July, with our kids, for the very first time! We'd really like some suggestions for restaurants (lunch, dinner) within walking distance of the Fisherman's Wharf area. My family is very adventurous when it comes to food, and love to try all types of cuisine! We're also looking for good places for breakfast (bagels on the go, croissants, muffins, fruit, etc) that we can just take with us and eat as we head out each day for sightseeing. Also, any lunch recommendations in Sausalito, Napa, and Sonoma would be most helpful too. Thanks so much!
Birthday Dinner in Disneyland
Anyone have any good suggestions for restaurants in or very near to Disneyland that I could take my family to, to celebrate a child's 6th birthday? We'll have 3 kids in tow and no car, so we'd have to stick to restaurants either in the Disneyland Resort, or within close walking distance of the resort. I want to make this dinner fun and memorable, so atmosphere is important (and of course, a good selection of eats for kids and us adults wouldn't hurt either!!). Thanks!!
Markham Peking House Restaurant
Anyone been to this restaurant lately? I'm planning a large dinner event there next week, and was hoping for some pointers to must-have dishes, samples of some of their menu items, etc. I've never been there, but have read some good reviews of it. Thanks!
