Thanksgiving dinner in Montreal
Those suggestions were actually for the Canadian Thanksgiving. You might want to check for the US one. But I know that Joe Beef restaurant served a "Thanksgiving special Turkey à la Montréal". Chef Frédéric Morin stuffed it with bagels, smoked meat and maple syrup. Sounds weird, but it’s actually pretty good.

Montreal in Late October
For a birthday dinner, check the 2 previous topics (there’s lots of recommendations there):

Bronte- a delicious experience! October 2009
I agree the ravioli with wild mushrooms melted in my mouth.
Suggestions for crème brûlée?
I had an exquisite crème brûlée trio at L’Inconnu. Three ramequins. The first with fresh vanilla. The second with white chocolate, but it didn’t have the usual greasy flavor of white chocolate. It actually tasted like milk chocolate. Pretty good. And the last crème brûlée with rosemary. The softness of the crème was first in the mouth. At the end of my mouthful was the conifer flavor.

where would you bring your best friend for a birthday?
Pop! This wine bar, kind of a little brother to Laloux, has a nice atmosphere, but if money is really no object, then Toqué! would be my first choice. There'd be no doubt he really is your best friend ☺
Where to get roasted macadamia nuts in Montreal?
You can find macadamia nuts at Adonis on Sauvé street. Their selection is amazing and the prices are probably the best in Montreal.
Romantic Birthday Dinner
Kitchen Gallery also serves generous meat portions and has a nice atmosphere.
It's at 60 Jean-Talon East. One of my favorites
If you're looking for a Thanksgiving dinner..
To be honest, there aren't that many Montreal restaurants serving Thanksgiving dinner ... I found 3 serving a table d'hôte with turkey:
-B&M: 16$ (from Friday to Monday)
http://bmrestaurant.com/menu/index.html
-Le Montrealais (Queen Elisabeth Hotel): 35$ http://www.fairmont.com/queenelizabeth/GuestServices/Restaurants/LeMontrealais.htm
-Globe: 48$ (Sunday + Monday)

More ideas?
quiet, upscale restaurant in downtown Montreal for a business dinner on a Friday night?
I would go for Newtown. Even though it's on Crescent St, it's quiet but the 2 young chefs might be too innovative for your group. Check out the menu. http://www.lenewtown.com/download/menu1_en.pdf
La Coupole might be a more standard choice. This French “Brasserie de luxe” is located inside the new Hotel Crystal. It's quite big and rarely full, so you an ask to be seated in private so you can have a conversation.

Bottled water
Looking for restaurants/bar/places in Montreal where they sell different types of bottled water (fancy or not). Any ideas?
Best foie gras purveyor in Montréal? (price, quality)
I’m not sure if you’ll consider it “centralish Montreal”, but you can find different foie gras at Terrines et pâtés in the Atwater Market. No idea about the price, but you can call them: 514-931-9559. Latina has also excellent home made duck and goose foie gras. (might be more $$)
Is Graziella any good?
If you do go to Graziella, try their handmade gnocchi. They make them with ricotta instead of potatoes, a traditional Emilia-Romagna way of doing it. Chef Graziella also makes amazing desserts. The semi-freddo is to die for!
2-3 dinners and a lunch with parents, all BYO around plateau area primarily
Les Infidèles is really good. Probably my favourite BYOW on Rachel St. It’s 47$ for a 5 course tasting menu. Plus, your parents might be happy if they are big eaters: the portions are HUGE
The Sparrow: A post chowdown review
Here some pictures of the famous doughnut (yes, I had more than 2...), my scrambled eggs and home-made smoked salmon and a view of our group.. (but they all wanted to remain anonymous)
Aroma Bakery?
You can also find Arhoma croissants (exquisite pistachio-chocolate) at La Cantine boutique on Mont-Royal St.
Places to eat in Montreal
Breakfast at Olive & Gourmando is a must. 351 St-Paul West. They also have the best brownies in town...
Eloping in Montreal in September please help.
I highly recommend Newtown. They have changed their chefs recently (the 2 former chefs from Laloux), the food is splendid, the price is more than reasonable and the desserts are out of this world. ( Try the vert: apple, pistachio, yogurt and white chocolate. Decadent and fresh). It’s on Crescent Street, not far from the Fairmount.

As for the flowers next to Fairmount, I have no idea!
Your fave ice cream flavors from the Mtl ice cream shops
I was wondering how come the Point G coma only ranks as the 63rd answer?
It’s really worth trying. Yes, the mojito flavour is exquisite but the Sicilian pistachio is out of this word!

Doing the tennis thing on Saturday night
You need reservations and it’s a really small place, but the Kitchen Gallery is worth trying. Pop in and see if they have a last minute table for you. Otherwise, cross the street there’s the Petit Alep.
Saveurs & tentations
I went of Saveurs & tentations (It’s a new trade show dedicated to local food in Old Montreal). It was a great opportunity to sample some regional products that we don’t normally get in Montreal. I discovered a blackcurrant liqueur from Mona & filles that was exquisite. Any one else want to share a local discovery so I can track it down and try it?
Restaurant Openings - 2009
The team from Europea have a new restaurant called Andiamo. They’ll be opening in 2 weeks at 1083 Beaver Hall. Fish and seafood will be the specialty.
ISO Montreal's best milkshake
Best milk-shakes are at Meumeu on St-Denis Street. If Ripples on St-Laurent makes a milk-shake with 6x chocolate that will be hard to beat too.
Duel closed temporarly
Duel restaurant on Amherst Street will be closed for about 1 1/2 months due to a fire last week-end. Does anyone know what happened?
Restaurant Openings - 2009
New opening restaurant Papas tapas-martini. Portuguese restaurant specialized in guess what .. tapas and martinis! On the haute-cuisine section of St-Laurent St Haven’t try. 3547 St-Laurent (formely the Glamour)
Plateau Area - Best Brunch
Senzala offer huge Brazilian brunch (avocado or mango stuffed with eggs. Sound strange but delicious) and they have a patio (177 Bernard).
why montreal has no mobile food
I tried the Muvbox yesterday (old mobile container ship transformed in restaurant).
Yes, great concept. The lobster rolls were really good, not too greasy and a little crunchy with the celery. I didn’t try the clam chowder, but heard good comments about it.
The only thing is that they serve on paper plate. I know, it goes with the concept, but its still a little sad to eat lobsters dishes without “decorum”!
Pretty cool to see it opening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zSVSIWmSkY
Next to Café des éclusiers (de la Commune and McGill)
New chefs at Newtown.. Down-town new hotspot?
