Santouka is coming
I don't know much about ramen, but have really enjoyed my visits to Kenzo. I assume this is much better...can someone explain the differences to me?
Grand Electric
I usually refuse to do lines...but I went one day directly after work (I work in the downtown core), got there by 5:45, got a table right at 6:00 pm and had an awesome, awesome meal. My 15 minute wait wasn't too bad and definitely worth the wait. I was worried I'd be let down as this place is sooo hyped up, but it was a great experience.
I thought the servers were really friendly and attentive too.

Pumpkin Foods in Toronto
Love this topic!
I had a pumpkin whoopie pie at the St. Jacob's market a few years ago...would like to find one of those again. The Great Lakes Brewery pumpkin ale is pretty good, but I believe there was another pumpkin beer at the LCBO last year, I just never could find it and can't remember the brewer (McAuslan maybe?)
I believe Ed's has pumpkin pie ice cream, although I've never had it. Can anyone recommend it?
Looking for Grade A Risotto
The Gabardine makes a nightly risotto, always vegetarian. On my recent trip, the risotto had patty pan squash and heirloom tomatoes, it was quite nice.
'QUATRE-FOODIES' trying out 'QUATREFOIL' ( long with photos )
Well said Mike from Hamilton. As a Toronto resident who lived in Hamilton for a few years, I must agree with you - and Hamilton's food scene has only grown since I've left! I would not only say it's NOT a culinary wasteland, I'd say it's a bit of a foodie gem, well worth exploring.
Looking for some cucina della nonna with a patio
Enoteca gets my vote. Delicious food, and I really like their patio.
Porchetta + Co
Hopefully they will happen again....I'd love to know the price point too, lobster usually isn't in my student budget!
The Piston ... anyone?
I'm thinking of going here AFTER dinner at Campagnolo this weekend.
Btw - Frank's Kitchen is generally booked up on weekends at least a couple weeks in advance.

Prairie Girl Bakery
I completely agree. I got two minis - vanilla/vanilla, chocolate/mint. The vanilla cake base was amazing, I could just eat the cake! I love icing, but there is way too much icing on the minis, and I didn't enjoy the icing as much as I'd hoped. This was most noticeable in the chocolate mint mini where all I could taste was icing, and it was overwhelming.
The regular size look huge. I think I would feel very ill after eating one of those.
Telus Tuesdays
The marshmallow layer is the sole reason I got the lemon tart...and I don't even like lemon tart. Would like to see the marshmallow used in another dessert, since that was pretty much all I ate of it last time. Perhaps paired with something of the chocolate variety.
Brockton General - Anyone been?
Thank you! I'm not on Twitter so I miss this stuff. I enjoyed my experiences at BG, so interesting to see who will replace Guy, and if the direction of the restaurant will shift...
Brockton General - Anyone been?
Taste T.O. says that Guy Rawlings is leaving Brockton General to open up his own place.
Anyone have any more scoop?

Good salad near Bay and Wellesley?
When I worked in that area, I often went to the Sobey's on Yonge, just south of Wellesley, for salads. I'd often get a couple to try, some were better then others. If you are willing to walk 15 minutes, the kale salad at Camros at Yonge & Hayden is delicious (as is everything there)!
Weekday Lunch somewhere between Niagara on the Lake and Burlington
Good to know, thanks!
Weekday Lunch somewhere between Niagara on the Lake and Burlington
They opened a new restaurant in Cambridge? Do you know what it's called?
Brockton General - Anyone been?
FYI - They do post their menu every day on their Facebook page. Mind you, it's not usually until later in the day but you can view the previous days offerings to get an idea of what they are serving that week. But yes, a website would be helpful. Not a place for picky eaters.
Good restaurant with great sticky toffee pudding?
This would be my suggestion too. Good food, good sticky toffee pudding, reasonably priced and I like the atmosphere a lot.
Is there a good dim sum restaurant in London?
Have been wondering the same thing! At this point it doesn't need to be "good", mediocre dim sum will fulfill my craving. Carts aren't important for me, so ANY suggestion would be appreciated.
Lola's Commissary -- fantastic weekend brunch
Their Eggs Lola are one of my fave brunch dishes in the whole city! Fresh, delicious, well-balanced and good size portions. I only have good things to say about Lola's Commissary, and yes, it is nice to not have to wait in line.
best breakfast joint in Toronto?
I have to second Lola's Comissary, one of the best brunch experiences of the past year (if not the best). Large portions, and the eggs Lola are one of the best take on eggs benny that I've ever encountered. Food is fresh and super tasty. And best of all, NO lines!!
Gourmet Cupcakes?
Been wondering about this place. I was surprised to see a cupcake place open up.
I haven't tried any yet, but those were the four flavours I was wanting to try, so thanks for the recs. I'm also wondering about the Marshmallow flavour and what the plain vanilla is like.
On their Facebook page there is a photo that lists what flavours they offer everyday, in case your interested in certain flavours.
Queen Margherita
Service was fine enough, not particularly friendly but not off-putting.
I suppose it could have been an off night/bad chef, but our waitress made a point of singling out the chef and going on how he was from Naples and highly experienced blah blah blah. This pizza didn't compare to Naples. It didn't even compare to Libretto, which I at least expected to be similar in style. But I definitely received a big plate of bread with some meh toppings on top. I was also one of the first there for dinner, so it's not as if they were rushing to get mine out of the oven.
Lola's Commissary
Thanks for responding, that's just what I wanted to hear.
The hard part will be choosing what to order!
