Haven't been to the Whipporwill yet, but hope to go soon - will report back and offer my comparison. |

The moment I saw those newspapers on the glass I thought it was over - was much as I wanted to believe the 'renovations' sign! I have no insider info but am really going to miss having good coffee so close to the station. |

Very happy to have this place in the neighbourhood. Really delicious and good value comfort food in a comfortable atmosphere. Had two sides as a starter - a butternut squash gratin and a shaved cauliflower slaw. Would eat both again in a second. At $5 each I was expecting a small side, but both were quite substantial. You can all get all sides (5) for $20 - these alone would make a great meal. Mains were also larger than I was expecting which made me happy (I'm a small girl but I can eat a lot). I had the daily pot pie which was lobster. Very satisfying. Lots of lobster meat, which was perfectly done. Would like to go back to try the burger. Dessert was an icebox cake at $5. Oh wow. So simple but so good. Could've had another. Agree with aser though, beer selection was disappointing. Would like to a more interesting selection. I also was disappointed by my cocktail. Will be returning! |

I love Cupid's cupcakes. Best I'd had in a long time in the GTA! I live in the city but someone I know from Oakville often brings me a few and I have never been disappointed. I haven't had B&B but I have had WCS and enjoyed their cupcakes I'd say Cupid's is a different style from what I can remember. WCS's icing is lighter, airier; Cupid's is denser. Thought both were very good, although I am partial to Cupid's. |

I don't know much about ramen, but have really enjoyed my visits to Kenzo. I assume this is much better...can someone explain the differences to me? |

I usually refuse to do lines...but I went one day directly after work (I work in the downtown core), got there by 5:45, got a table right at 6:00 pm and had an awesome, awesome meal. My 15 minute wait wasn't too bad and definitely worth the wait. I was worried I'd be let down as this place is sooo hyped up, but it was a great experience. I thought the servers were really friendly and attentive too. |

ISO Ambroise apricot wheat beer in To. They have it on tap at The Auld Spot near Danforth/Chester. ----- |

Love this topic! I had a pumpkin whoopie pie at the St. Jacob's market a few years ago...would like to find one of those again. The Great Lakes Brewery pumpkin ale is pretty good, but I believe there was another pumpkin beer at the LCBO last year, I just never could find it and can't remember the brewer (McAuslan maybe?) I believe Ed's has pumpkin pie ice cream, although I've never had it. Can anyone recommend it? |

The Gabardine makes a nightly risotto, always vegetarian. On my recent trip, the risotto had patty pan squash and heirloom tomatoes, it was quite nice. |

'QUATRE-FOODIES' trying out 'QUATREFOIL' ( long with photos ) Well said Mike from Hamilton. As a Toronto resident who lived in Hamilton for a few years, I must agree with you - and Hamilton's food scene has only grown since I've left! I would not only say it's NOT a culinary wasteland, I'd say it's a bit of a foodie gem, well worth exploring. |

Looking for some cucina della nonna with a patio Enoteca gets my vote. Delicious food, and I really like their patio. |

Thank you! I can afford that :) |

I had them at Beast last weekend for brunch. |
|

Hopefully they will happen again....I'd love to know the price point too, lobster usually isn't in my student budget! |
|

Did anyone try their lobster po'boy today? |

I'm thinking of going here AFTER dinner at Campagnolo this weekend. Btw - Frank's Kitchen is generally booked up on weekends at least a couple weeks in advance. ----- Frank's Kitchen |

I completely agree. I got two minis - vanilla/vanilla, chocolate/mint. The vanilla cake base was amazing, I could just eat the cake! I love icing, but there is way too much icing on the minis, and I didn't enjoy the icing as much as I'd hoped. This was most noticeable in the chocolate mint mini where all I could taste was icing, and it was overwhelming. The regular size look huge. I think I would feel very ill after eating one of those. |

The marshmallow layer is the sole reason I got the lemon tart...and I don't even like lemon tart. Would like to see the marshmallow used in another dessert, since that was pretty much all I ate of it last time. Perhaps paired with something of the chocolate variety. |

Brockton General - Anyone been? Thank you! I'm not on Twitter so I miss this stuff. I enjoyed my experiences at BG, so interesting to see who will replace Guy, and if the direction of the restaurant will shift... |

Brockton General - Anyone been? Taste T.O. says that Guy Rawlings is leaving Brockton General to open up his own place. ----- |

Good salad near Bay and Wellesley? When I worked in that area, I often went to the Sobey's on Yonge, just south of Wellesley, for salads. I'd often get a couple to try, some were better then others. If you are willing to walk 15 minutes, the kale salad at Camros at Yonge & Hayden is delicious (as is everything there)! |

Weekday Lunch somewhere between Niagara on the Lake and Burlington Good to know, thanks! |

Weekday Lunch somewhere between Niagara on the Lake and Burlington They opened a new restaurant in Cambridge? Do you know what it's called? |

Deep-fried oreos? I'm sold. I need to make a trip here soon! |

Brockton General - Anyone been? FYI - They do post their menu every day on their Facebook page. Mind you, it's not usually until later in the day but you can view the previous days offerings to get an idea of what they are serving that week. But yes, a website would be helpful. Not a place for picky eaters. |

Good restaurant with great sticky toffee pudding? This would be my suggestion too. Good food, good sticky toffee pudding, reasonably priced and I like the atmosphere a lot. |

Is there a good dim sum restaurant in London? Have been wondering the same thing! At this point it doesn't need to be "good", mediocre dim sum will fulfill my craving. Carts aren't important for me, so ANY suggestion would be appreciated. |
