First date restuarant recs?
Aright man, with all due respect to the other posters, this question is right in my wheelhouse. If you want to go to a cocktail bar with excellent food, go to Cienfuegos or Death & Co both on 6th bet. 1st and A. You want an automatic good time restaurant? impress her with your style and take her to Raoul's in Soho. Everyone loves Raouls. Can't go wrong right there. Something heavy on the drinks and heavy on the food, try Yerba Buena in the East Village. And if all else fails, Apizz is always there for you on the LES.

best middle eastern/lebanese in NYC?
ilili is like a meat packing district club/restaurant misplaced in no-mans land... food isn't bad, but the scene there is kind of beat. have heard great things about Tanoreen and also, even though there's never anyone there, Balade in the East Vill has some good Lebanese food.

Have been there a bunch and always enjoy it. It's more of a great neighborhood/local spot than it is a destination restaurant, but the food is solid and well priced.

bachelorette party recommendation
Pending on how many people you are... Yerba Buena Perry is a great, fun spot... But not American or Italian, it's latin food. Drinks are great and they've got at table in the back that can seat up to 12 i believe.

Murray Hill Restaurant Needed for Group Dinner
It's not necessarily in Murray Hill, but it's very close. Convivio is one of the best italian/pasta joints in town and they have an excellent $64 tasting menu. They have a private room downstairs too, pretty sure it'd fit your party. Check it out.

Which restaurant will be the least douche-y on a Saturday night?
Apizz is your best option for least douchey.... Locanda probably the best option overall though, and, since it is a Saturday Night, you might as well at least try to get a res at Locanda to check out some kind of scene. It's not THAT bad there, it's no meat packing district type. Although you do get a good dose of hotel crowd.

Help! Why isn't there a single good chinese delivery restaurant in the East Village?
My favorite Chinese food delivery in the area is The Cottage on Irving. They always delivered to me when i was in Stuy town on Ave B and they still deliver to me on 13th and A. Not sure how much further they go, but it's 100% a step up from Yummy and Tina. Overall, I agree w/the current sad state of Chinese in the EV. Ever since Rosie & Ting shut its door 3-4 years ago, it's been a mess.

Best dishes at Convivio???
Just got back from Convivio tonight and feel the same way as steak... High quality meal at a very reasonable price. For pastas, we had the Malloreddus (sardinian saffron gnocchetti, crab, sea urchin) and Caramelle (braised oxtail filled ravioli, escarole, pecorino) both of which were incredible. the Caramelle was really next level though, some really good stuff right there. Also, had the steak and the lamb chops which i thought both could have been better. Next time i'm doing a fish and the duck.

Non-sports bar to watch March Madness?
Two non-sports bars i enjoy watching games at. Cabrito in the West Village... good taco and margarita specials during games usually and two nice flat screens at the bar. Also, Bills Bar & Burger in the Meatpacking has some good TV's and is definitely more of a burger joint than sports bar.

not seafood, but every person i've ever suggested Mas (farmhouse) to has come back raving... It's a great place for a birthday dinner. The $68, 4-course tasting menu is fantastic. you can choose from anything on the menu.

BBQ on Orchard?
That's Georgia's BBQ you're talking about and it's amazing, best ribs in Manhattan in this guys opinion. Definitely check it out... big platter sized servings w/two sides for under $20. Also, their delivery is stellar.

3 Nights In New Orleans w/a big group of NY'ers
Greetings NO hounders -
Will be down in New Orleans for the first weekend of Jazzfest with a big group (18 people) from NYC - Looking to get three big dinners planned. What are the can't miss/slam dunks? Price not an issue, I want people to experience the best food in New Orleans has to offer. Pretty sure the only place that's definitely off the list is Emeril's spot.
Thanks!

Five Points into Great Jones Spa is the perfect combo and they're literally right next door. Get the gnocchi with short rib ragu if they have it, stuff is amazing.

if you're incredibly bad-ass and serious about your ice cream, look into getting a Milkmade Ice Cream (based in the EV) subscription and they'll deliver to your door. Basta Pasta
couldn't agree more re: leaving basta pasta feeling confused and unsatisfied. my friends who live across the street love it...they also don't like leaving 17th street much. i don't get basta pasta and never will. the service is awful, they bring food out one a time and forget or mess up orders regularly. Plus, its overpriced, the portions are small and the food just isn't that good. ok, rant over.
