Boston foodie heading to New Orleans....
varies...we go through moods...lately, we're fans of B&G Oyster (american/oyster), Grotto (italian), Hungry Mother (american comfort), Petit Robert (standard french) when we go out....when we order in huge fans of RodDee (thai), Quingdao Garden (chinese), Rani (indian)....does that help at all? we'll go anywhere...highbrow or not...with toddler in tow
Boston foodie heading to New Orleans....
with mom (foodie who gravitates to french), hubby (foodie who loves oysters and po' boys), me (addicted to gumbo and seafood) and a toddler (foodie in the making who LOVES seafood) for a conference...we only have a long weekend and it's been about 10 years since i've been to New Orleans...
so any musn't miss recommendations for restaurants?
we're probably looking for 1-2 not-too-formal places for dinner (but definitely doesn't have to your standard 'family friendly' fare)...and a few good places for a casual lunch as we wander around downtown/the quarter?
or even if some can just point me to some good threads on this board? any narrowing down of our MANY options would be hugely helpful!!
thanks so much....
Boston's Best Authentic Mexican/Tex Mex
How about Jose's in Cambridge? Had a good meal there a few weeks back?
Suggestions for a double date night with a couple with food restrictions?
Thanks all...forgot about Highland Kitchen...that passed...whew....now we can have a good meal too...
Suggestions for a double date night with a couple with food restrictions?
The hubby and I are doing a (double) date night with a friend and new gf. We're looking for a nice 'date vibe' place in the Cambridge/Arl/Som/Belmont/Winchester part of town....
While we will eat anything so long as it's good, our suggestions of Hungry Mother, Oleana, and Rendezvous have all been nixed as too rich, too ethnic or too acidic (?!?) respectively....
I'm trying to come up with the next round of suggestions. I'm thinking maybe suggesting Catch, and would love any additional help for nice, 'date vibe', middish range priced, good food that will meet finicky needs.
Thanks much!!!
Best Chinese/pan-Asian Dumplings in Cambridge?
Yummm...Quindao three delight dumplings (you get a lotta dumplings in an order) plus their crispy house low mein...my personal favorites for simple straightforward...also like their szechuan hot chicken (esp. if you enjoy the flavor of M. Chungs suan la) and fried rice ... but, honestly, NEVER had a bad dish there...
Best Cupcakes, for sure!
Like the Flour cupcakes, but if I'm in the S.End...ALWAYS prefer the Buttery for cupcakes....yummm
Searching for Thai takeout in/near Belmont
Hi chows...I've been cruising this site for a while and getting lots of great tips over the years...this, however, is my first post...
Just moved to Belmont from Brookline, where I lived just steps from Rod Dee and Dok Bua...
I've been searching the boards, but am desperately looking for some good, not too pricey, relatively authentic Thai (eat in or take out) in my new, culinarily-challenged 'hood (much like I used to get at Rod Dee regularly)...am willing to travel a little (Arlington, Cambridge, even Somerville)...anyone have recs?
Thanks!!!
