sorry:( i'll post back when we book a hotel. i believe we'll be staying in/near old quebec and would certainly travel a bit for a great place but i just don't know the city well enough to know what is considered ridiculously far in your city. as for price range, moderate is fine but again, i know what that means in ny... ideally, a place where locals go rather than something too touristy. not a 'destination' place in the traditional sense of the word. |

i posted this on the nyc board but wanted a local's p.o.v. on restaurant suggestions for 3 unpretentious foodie gals (so, doesn't need to be the hot, expensive place, but must have great food and must be a cool spot w/a welcoming vibe) and a mature 9 y.o. (so not a family restaurant). not sure where we're staying yet but hope to be central. thank you so much in advance. |

thank you, elyssa. i've heard good things about bistro francais -- have certainly passed it -- and might go that route, though bistro du coin sounds fun. if you ever need intel in nyc, let me know! thanks again:) |

i'm a ny-er coming to dc this thurs. for the, like, 20th time in my life and am finally taking one of those 'moonlight monument' tours that ends at 10pm. i'm staying in georgetown, coming in w/my adorable mom, and need an after-10pm dinner idea. doesn't HAFTA be in g'town but i don't want to be riding around in expensive cabs for too long (mom's not getting on the metro...) nothing fancy or expensive. just good food, late. doing the two amys and mendocino grill on our other nights. thanks in advance! |
