Where to eat around St. Clair & Bathurst

Have to weigh in on on place - Churasaco - the most disappointing take-out I've had since moving to the neighborhood. Dry, tasteless, overcooked chicken. So disappointing when you're starving and they advertise 'best chicken in the city" :(

Mezetta on the other hand is a gem. The ambience, service and food are all wonderful.

I'm dying for a go-to sushi place in the St Clair and Christie area though!! Desperate!

Quiet - Steak - Toronto

Thank you both so much - great insiders tips! I'm not a huge steak eater myself so I'll check out their menus to see what I could eat. I like lighter fare.

Thank you for those suggestions! Would The Black Hoof be suitable? Or is it quite loud?

Le Creuset at Home Sense & Winners

Agree completely with the US Le Creuset outlet comment! Amazing prices. I stumbled onto one at an outlet mall and could not believe my eyes. The store manager there told me the outlets are coming to Canada - first one was to be just outside Calgary by end of this year. It's positive news, but like other "Sales" in CAnada, I suspect the prices will not compare to outlet shopping south of the border. I was given my Creuset pieces this year by my boyfriend and I love them.

p.s I justi noticed them at Winners too - the colour selection was pretty good. And the prices are very good compared to what you'd paid full retail.

Quiet - Steak - Toronto

Your expertise never fails me. Tomorrow night I have to take out a friend to dinner in Toronto. He's a 'meat and potatoes' kind of guy, so I'm thinking steak, ribs, lamb, etc. He likes good food and wine. The catch is that he, although relatively young, is very hard of hearing, wears hearing aids. So, quiet is essential, loud boisterous ambience is terribly frustrating for both of us. I'd prefer somewhere near downtown core, but if it's super good, can travel.

Does such a place exist? I've eaten at a lot of great places in this city and have yet to find one I think fits the bill..

Thank you for your help.

New Yorker looking for a good burger...

Try The Burger's Priest, just opened Queen E and Coxwell.... the chef spent years researching the best fresh ground beef burger including stints at the best places in NYC. You won't regret it. I want one now! :)

best burgers in T.O.

Brand new place called The Burgers Preist ("redeeming the burger one at a time") just opened at Queen E and Coxwell across from Harvey's. Amazing high quality burgers. Try the veggie - aka 'The Option". I'm not a burger person and I love this place.

Novice with a hand blender. Help!

Thank you 1sweetpea! Good advice. I am curious about the chopper... i.e. is there something I can't or shouldn't do with the stick blender. I'll await more experts :)

Novice with a hand blender. Help!

I've just bought my first handblender (Braun mr 550) with whisk and chopper attachments. My first question is what would I use the stick blender for vs what would I use the chopper? Does it matter? Such a rookie!

Any other suggestions welcome as to what I should make. I also just got a Le Creuset French Oven so can't wait to make something with both appliances!
