We have only two dinners -- help!?
My husband and I have a midweek Vegas getaway -- we're looking for fun. unique places on the Strip -- we especially love tasting menus/small plates. We're prepared to splurge, but we don't want to dress too fancy. Much appreciation for recommendations!

For gazing purposes: Open kitchen for solo diner?
I'll be staying at 101st & Riverside, but plan to eat my way from one end of Manhattan to the other in early August. Can anyone suggest great food in a not-stuffy atmosphere for a solo diner, with view of open kitchen? No budget concerns really (under $150 would be good)
many thanks!

Help with this scenario?
I have a few precious nights in NYC before my husband and 10-year-old son join me. I'm seeing Book of Mormon on a Friday night and want to have a late solo dinner somewhere between the theater and where I'm staying at 101st & Riverside.
I'm up for almost anything but it should be somewhere where a solo diner can be comfortable. I'd prefer a lively atmosphere and not somewhere stuffy/quiet.
thanks for any tips!

Help with dinner decision?
I think I'll pass on Ssam and go to Degustation -- really appreciate your knowlegeable responses!
Help with dinner decision?
I've pored over these NYC boards for MONTHS trying to decide where to go with my husband for our short trip next week. We only have one night for a nice dinner, and I am completely obsessed with the menus at both Momofuku Ssam and Degustation. We also like a fun and not-stuffy atmosphere - with friendly service a BIG plus.
Appreciate any and all input!
thanks,

"Dark French bistro" in Woody Allen's Melinda & Melinda?
Does anyone know if this place exists? In the movie, it looks like a wine cellar. Any tips appreciated!

Husband and I want to eat -- but not dress -- well
We'll be in Manhattan for five nights. We want to eat well but neither of us like to dress fancy. The places we are considering are: Degustation, Spotted Pig, Momofuku Ssam, Patsy's, Kellari's, Fatty Crab. We're not total slobs! -- but any suggestions on where to dress down and eat like a king?
Many thanks!

Best tasting menus in Manhattan?
My ex-New Yorker husband, who thinks Ray's on 6th Ave is the height of food heaven, will be visitin NYC for a short trip. We live in L.A. and love ethnic food but have great options already. What are some recommended tasting menus? Price is okay, though we don't want to spend our kid's college fund. MANY THANKS!!
