I was just in Menemsha with my husband visiting family. They always take us for a special treat to the Beach Plum restaurant, which in the past has been wonderful,but was terrible from food to lousy service this time. We heard they have a new chef and are training new staff, but no excuse to charge so much and get inferior quality food and such small amt. with wait staff that are not professional.

Instead, I recommend the Chilmark Tavern! We were there for the first time and found the food to be amazing, nice ambiance(not a bar atmosphere, but lovely decor and fine dining)and polished friendly staff. I highly recommend the onion rings..thin and crispy, not greasy and the mussels are local and done with a wonderful sauce that I wanted to drink out of the bowl.

Amazing Chow fun!! It is made in house and melts in your mouth!! I haven't had it this good since New York!!My husband had chicken and shrimp fried rice and also outstanding. Very fresh, crisp veges and perfect seasoning and flavor.

My husband and I were just in S.F.and found a must try in the mission...Roosevelts Tamales. Delicious unusual varieties and homemade flavor.Try the sweet corn tamale...melts in your mouth!

We had incredible ciopinno at Scomma's on the wharf!! Full of seafood and wonderful flavor..enough to share! From what I've read, not many Chow members think much of the food on Fisherman's Wharf. I think I have a fairly discriminating palette, and I would highly recommend it.
P.S clam chowder is great there also!

Yes Mission Inn was Sooo beautiful! Had a wonderful Sunday Brunch there. It's otherworldly!
Also, the Salted Pig was unique in it's creative menu and fun atmosphere. the bacon fat popcorn, is a "must try""!

Tupelo Honey is a gem! Sweet potato pancakes are scrumptious.

Grove Park Inn was a pleasant surprise. I read many negative comments about their food, but the seafood buffet was very good. Some dishes were better then others, but overall very well done and a good price.They have a caramel sauce that is too die for. The chef actually sent me the recipe!! A slice of the pecan pie with their homemade vanilla ice cream and their decadent caramel sauce poured over the top mmm!

Fiores Ristorante Toscana was a disappointment..nothing special about our meals.

We have reservations at the Admiral Monday..hard to get in there..must be good!

Great recommendation for Fritti! My husband and son loved it! Also, the location is very interesting...reclaiming that part of the town.
