Special occasion event for 50+ people

I am looking for a place to have a cocktail type event with drinks and appertizer/finger food (not a sit-down dinner) at end of August for about 50 people, preferable in the Old Montreal area. I couldn't find much. Any suggestions?

Here is what I have so far:
Le Saint-Gabriel: http://www.lesaint-gabriel.com/cockta...
Chez Queux: http://www.chezqueux.com/montreal_fre...

Thanks!

Group lunch near Eau Clair downtown

I am looking for lunch place suggestion near Eau Clair for a group of about 10 people. At first we were going to go for dim sum in Chinatown but just found out one person is vegetarian so will need some veggie option.

Thoughts?

Thanks!!

Dine Out at Vero-Calgary

Thanks for the heads-up alau2! I am going this Thursday night. My reservation is early though at 6:30pm so will see if they have similar seating problem.

Did you enjoy the food on the dine-out menu? I think there are options for the main course. They all sound good. What did you pick and what would you recommend?

I like the pub at the Post Hotel for a casual meal. I love their goulash! Great quality of food.

Dry cured ham in Calgary?

Does anyone know where I can get dry cured ham in Calgary? I don't want it sliced, but similar to the picture I have attached. I have checked Superstore and the Crossroad market but didn't have much luck. Crossroad had cured bacon but not ham. Thanks!

Organic Produce and Meat in Calgary

Thanks for the suggestions. I am mostly interested in the produce so I will definitely go check out Community Natural Foods. Good to hear that it's right downtown!

Organic Produce and Meat in Calgary

Can anyone recommend where to go for organic produce and meat in Calgary? I have only been to Calgary Farmers Market and I am looking for other suggestions. If there is anything downtown that would be great, but I wouldn't mind a drive if it mean cheaper price and/or better products.

Thanks!

Casbah - Calgary

Thanks for your comment alley! Our group are planning to go on a Friday night so no rush. Just want to make sure that there are no issues with the quality of the food. It does look like a really cool space so I'm looking forward to it!

Laksa in Western Canada

So the only place you can find laksa in Calgary is at Spice Cafe? Is it good there? Any other places for Malay food in Calgary?

Best Authentic Thai & Chinese in Calgary

Does anyone know if T-Pot would be a good place for Chinese dinner? I mean order a few meat/veggie dishes and rice. Or is it something like Sun Chiu Kee where it's better to order noodles and congee and such?

Best Authentic Thai & Chinese in Calgary

I had a nice dinner at Tai Pan not too long ago. I like going to Calgary Court for lunch. It's not a fancy looking place so not sure that would be the best place to bring in-laws.

Good eats at or around Marche Jean Talon?

Thanks for the list carswell! Looks like I won't be leaving the market hungry. Do you have any favourites?

Good eats at or around Marche Jean Talon?

I want to include Marche Jean Talon as part of my visit to Montreal and I plan to go on a Sunday morning. I have never been so I'm not too sure what to expect. Would I be able to buy breakfast at the market or should I eat before going? Any good eats for lunch at or near the market? I may be carrying bags filled will goodies so I would rather not having to walk too far. I'll be taking the metro or bus.

Fresh produce in Calgary?

I went to Millarville Market this Saturday and it was nice. I got some fantastic blackberries, beans and a beautiful bouquet of flowers for only $5. It's a bit out of town but it was a nice drive. Thanks for letting me know about this place!

choklat

I just noticed on their website that they have this "Choklat Snobbery 101" session almost every week? Has anyone one been and can let me know what is it? Is it worth the money and 2 hours of my time?

Ottawa - which of these restaurants would you choose?

No one picked Navarra? I thought the menu looked interesting! Whalesbone does look like an amazing place for seafood.

Ottawa - which of these restaurants would you choose?

Help needed! I have been given this list of restaurants to choose from. I have never been to any of them so I am looking for your recommendation. I would prefer something casual with great food. Here are the choices: Arc Lounge, Whalesbone, Navarra, Murray street, Benitz Bistro.

What is your pick?

Pied de Cochon - another great meal

How early in advance should I make my reservation at APDC? It will only be for 2 people. We are hoping to go on the long weekend at the beginning of September.

Off my list - Red Door Bistro

I just checked out Farm's websie. It seems like their focus is cheese and wine. Is it a good restaurant to go to if I don't eat cheese? Do they have normal entrees for dinner?

Off my list - Red Door Bistro

Has anyone been to Red Door Bistro recently since this last review and can tell me if it has improved and worth a try? I was going to take a visiting friend there but found many mix reviews, either really bad or really good. I am looking for a restaurant around 17th Ave SW with great food, preferably use local, fresh and seasonal ingredients. Thanks!
