I really liked Praline Connection on our last visit. We had 6 people. Lots of different ordering going on. Alot of us had the daily special of fried chicken. i was wowed. It was really good. Now, that said, the service was a little confused and slow. but once we had our cocktails, we just sipped and talked and laughed at the service problems.

What do people think about Crescent Steak House out in Mid-City on Broad? I have never been but it sounds good.

we are looking at Thursday. we have no other reservations., we like to eat the bar of places, and usually during slow periods, we don't have any problems. but for upperline, i'm going to call.have a great trip!

I have not eaten there but i spent a few nights in June enjoying music in their courtyard.

I love the Swizzle Stick Bar.Ms. Lu Brow is a great bar manager. very sweet.They've had a chef change, i hope the food is still as good, though i suspect it is as they tend to promote within.

don't forget some big ziplocks to pack your food.. they can be messy.

Gautreau's is a great restaurant with a very good chef. It is not particularly "New Orleans Cuisine", it is food you can get in any semi large city in America.Go to the website and check out the menu.

Friend had the burger in the restaurant part of Snug Harbor and proclaimed it better than Port of Call. (he lives there and eats at these places regularly)

Well, I was going to post about 100 responses ago. I think a well-behaved 4 year old, in her own world with her head phones and ipad is delightful ( i have no kids of my own by the way). She was probably better behaved than most adults. Her mom freaking out about their meal is another story, though. $17 for chicken is actually cheap for an entree at Galatoires. And what's wrong with ordering an Ala Carte veggie for the table, like every one else in the joint? huh, mom? Now, i feel bad you didn't know that the chicken dish had (god forbid) canned peas in it. It is winter after all, no fresh peas till spring, mom. Even then hardly anyone uses fresh peas these days. Just push the peas to the side for gosh sakes. And as for the dress code, it is on the website and it is discussed all over here. I really don't have an opinion about those T-Shirts, I live is L.A. nuff said, have to see that stuff all day. I eat at Galatoires twice a year, never,ever had bad or rude service.

Well, the bar next door is my husbands favorite bar( ms. maes club house), they just had a change of some sort (owner? not sure) so we were shocked, i mean, shocked when they doubled their prices. Instead of $1.00, the drinks are now $2.00!!!! No, really we love this dive bar, but never go there at night when it is frat city. Stoly rocks only $3.00, got to love it.

checked it out. they are open till 7 p.m.. I would feel safe taking a taxi, and i am sure they are used to calling one for people when they are finished eating as it is not transit friendly where they are.

You could take a taxi to Willie Mae's, then taxi over to Angelo's for dessert, then the Streecar back to the Quarter.Get the cannoli.
