I believe the only rule they have about new restaurants for the Bay Area version is that they need to be open for at least two years to give the place a chance to find its legs and customers.

Man, this thread is making me very sad! I used to be able to get Post Road when I lived in Boston but the last time I had it was four years ago. In SF, the only pumpkin ale we've found is the aforementioned Buffalo Bill's.

Last year's batch was not good but this year's is drinking a bit better, still nothing compares to Post Road. We found a Sea Dog Pumpkin ale at Trader Joe's the other day. It's not great. It's got a thin mouthfeel and a sort of lager-y aftertaste.

God, I miss the East Coast at this time of year! I've never even seen most of the pumpkin ales mentioned here in SF stores.

It premieres October 18th at 11pm (following Project Runway's finale) but then moves to Wednesdays at 10pm the next week.
