Any new restaurants or new restaurants to be in the Iowa City area?

Givanni's Iowa City

My wife and I lived in the Iowa City/CR area for around 10 years now and have never tried Givanni's. I checked out their website and their menu looks really nice, just wondering what peoples' experiences were with this restaurant. Is it a place I should try? and what is recommended to order? Thanks!

My wife and I tried it around the time it opened and thought it had a lot of potential. It was ok, but it was still early for them so I'm guessing it has improved. The meatball appetizer was very good.

My wife and I decided to try out the Sanctuary Pub this past weekend and it is my new favorite place to grab a beer, some good pizza, and enjoy. The fact that they had one of the best beers in the world on tap (Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar) had sold me on the place already. We ordered a pizza that had cilantro-pesto sauce, jalapenos, green peppers, tomatoes, and it was very good. The pitcher of brown ale was great and has my mouth watering to get back their again soon.

Hi, new chowhound here. Love reading all the posts and I learned a few things. I'm not going to be as critical as some because I don't know as much but thought I would share my experience with my family at Redhead in Solon. I had a ribeye medium rare with zucchini and squash on the side. My meal was fantastic and their buttermilk bleu cheese dressing on the salad is great. My wife had the Buffalo chicken soup which she liked. We've gone to this place many times and have yet to be disappointed. Looking forward to trying many of the restaurants listed on the site and for those who like mushrooms, morel season is almost here and I can't wait to get in the timber.
