Hi. We are thinking of hiring this caterer for a 100 person sit down luncheon at an off site location.....wondering if anyone has had dealings with this company and how it went!

Has anyone used Nyack Seaport for an event?

If so, would love to hear how it went for you, we are considering a lunch in March 2010 there and want to know how your event went there foodwise and otherwise.

Looking for kid-friendly birthday spot

I think Dobbs Ferry is probably too far, but if it isn't Harvest is incredibly kid friendly and when the weather is good you can sit outside and there is a public park within sight distance they have a website at www.harvest2000.com. Also in Dobbs Ferry is Tomatillo with great CA/Mex casual food they get their produce from Stone Barns; super casual place....Cedar Street. As for closer to Mamaroneck we've had luck with the kids at Nikos Greek Taverna on Central Avenue near Route 119 and for Korean Kang Suh on Central Avenue further south than Nikos, has a staff that absolutely fawns over kids. I am sorry I don't know the East Side of Westchester that well.

your favorite dog friendlyplaces to eat-in 914

Horsefeathers in Tarrytown (outside) gives my 28 pound Tibetan Terrier his own water bowl and they welcomed him at lunch so far at Lefteris Gyro, also in Tarrytown (and also outside). Dogs are always welcome at Stone Barn outdoor cafe (not the restaurant, the casual pick up food area in the stone courtyard)......Striped Bass on the river in Tarrytown may allow the dog on the outdoor deck; one time they allowed us another time they didn't you should call ahead. I never tried it but you could probably call Harvest in Hastings and Red Hat in Irvington and ask about bringing your dog to the outside areas that don't require walking through the restaurant. In the recession we are finding everyone is alot nicer about this sort of stuff (Red Hat for example used to be rude about bringing my human children and now they welcome them). Good luck!

Bar Mitzvah recommendations for Rivertown family?

Hi, hoping I can get some good suggestions. My son's bar mitzvah is in March 2010 and we want to have a great LUNCH party. I'm hoping to do it offsite within 20 minutes of Tarrytown or onsite with a helpful good caterer (must be able to do a dairy meal, but doesn't need to be kosher OR a kosher meat meal) We are probably topping out at 100 people (70 adults/30 kids) and we are set with a good non-annoying dj but are totally stymied on the food. Hope you chowhounds can help out! Thanks.
