Toronto’s Best Butter Tarts Aren’t in Toronto Another vote for Kate's Town Talk in Streetsville-exactly my kind of butter tart! Crispy edges and not too much crust. |

Vinegar on Fries...a dying tradition I remember my first taste of s&v chips in 1968, I believe. |
Vinegar on Fries...a dying tradition Is the taste anything like Ponzu sauce? Soy, citrus, fish etc extracts(also vinegar)--it's incredible! |
I always thought soy sauces were just that (I know, there are low sodium and mushroom flavours) but this Ponzu citrus seasoned one by Kikkoman that I bought at Metro has grabbed me by the lapels. What a burst of perfect flavour combos that has me sipping part-capfuls straight from the bottle! |

Where to eat pork with abundant CRACKLING? At Heidelberg House restaurant near St Jacobs I noticed some impressive-looking large pork hock dinners being served at nearby tables. Not sure if the skin was crackling or gummy..can anyone else weigh in? |

Start with coconut oil and Flavacol and you've got real theatre-style popcorn with the Whirley Pop. Yum. |

OK so no BPA to worry about, but has anyone noticed a strange taste in some cans of beer that I call (don't laugh) a taste like the smell of baby powder? I often can't finish the beer when I get this flavour, and don't believe I've ever encountered it in bottled beer. |

I wanted a smaller, easier to handle bottle, so I bought a brand called Thai Kitchen, made from anchovies, which is very concentrated and i can use less. |

I'm wondering if King Cole in Aurora sells it, as they have duck eggs, duck spring rolls, other specialty items, etc. Give them a call. |

I bought some rum cake there and it could not have been moister! You could smell the fumes after opening the wrapper. |

No Frills near Promenade. |
I've seen them at Longo's |

Vinegar on Fries...a dying tradition Or, something kinda similar (in colour anyway) try balsamic vinegar on fries. |

Midland, Ontario – Recommendations: Where to eat? I guess the Boathouse doesn't rank highly, although the location is nice. The fries are large and from frozen, but I thought the burger patty was very tasty, and the fish and chips blew me away--the large fish portion is in the shape of a fish, Am I just easily impressed? |

Vinegar on Fries...a dying tradition Couldn't readily find it on their site, but Wiki has all the goods! |

Vinegar on Fries...a dying tradition Does Walker's still have a "Fish n Chips" flavour? |
Vinegar on Fries...a dying tradition Maybe slightly off-topic, but the Canuck reference reminded me of the time I was in a restaurant in Toronto, and the waiter asked the ladies at the table next to me if they wanted gravy on their fries. When they looked blankly at him, he smiled and said "What part of the States are you from?" |
Vinegar on Fries...a dying tradition Heck, I even spruce up a glass of ice water with a shot of apple cider or red wine vinegar! Doesn't have to be lemon, folks. |

100 Foods to Eat Before You Die - Toronto/GTA Edition #62--but if you can possibly get your hands on fresh morels, sauteed with butter, s&p, they are my single most favourite food! |

How about Harbour Diner? Looked good on Ya Gotta Eat Here.. |

100 Foods to Eat Before You Die - Toronto/GTA Edition @pinstripe.--.#71----saw Philadelphia Kitchen in Orangeville on Ya Gotta Eat Here and the sammi looked great! The owner is from Philly |

Philadelphia Kitchen Orangeville This is always the thing about being a foodie--in this case, even though I live in the boonies, I have a place I can walk to with tasty meatball and veal on a bun, etc. Worth the drive to Orangeville for a sammie? Hard to say.. |

100 Foods to Eat Before You Die - Toronto/GTA Edition I had snail in a pho-type soup in a resto on lower Spadina, but forget the name.. |

T-Fal pan with white ceramic coating I think with the cast iron, although we've been told it makes you strong and prevents anemia, there are some conditions that make iron intake unhealthy--it's complicated. |
T-Fal pan with white ceramic coating Nope, new for - get this- $3.74. It's a 10 inch skillet, had a cardboard sleeve on it (which I threw out) but the pan itself has no markings other than some words written on the bottom, which is black in white lettering, such as "La poele A+" and 2+3=5,made to look like chalk writings on a blackboard. Very weird..Wonder if this is the typical of a knock-off? |
T-Fal pan with white ceramic coating It looks to me that the Ceram-Eco there is black. I'm having trouble finding white ceramic online other than one by Bialetta, or some company with a name like that and I'm sure it would be much more expensive than what I bought. Anyway, as to my dilemma of deciding to buy a couple more, they've probably sold out by now. |
T-Fal pan with white ceramic coating Sorry, my mistake..It's Starfrit..yes, the cooking surface is white and the pan is aluminum, maybe not as good a name, so not sure if it's safe and non-toxic--anyone? |
T-Fal pan with white ceramic coating Just saw some on sale at ridiculously low price-it doesn't say "non-POFA" or "non-PTFA". Is this white coating safe? |

Another decent place for Chinese takeout (with a few tables as well) is the Empire Chef in Aurora shopping Center-a really good price of $4.99 on the lunch specials every day . Try to time it around the school crowd. |

Yes, in Stouffville, but not sure how many others might have it too. |
