The Cafe in Ames uses a lot of local foods, has a frequently changing menu and excellent quality. Centro in Des Moines has weekly/monthy farmer's market specials. The Des Moines farmer's market had several events over the summer with a number of different chefs. Contacting their management might get you more contacts.

Some friends and I are going to do some power shopping in the Schaumberg area and will be staying at the Marriott Renaisance. Any suggestions for good spots for lunch or dinner in the area? A good bakery for a quick breakfast? We're not planning on going downtown during this trip.
