pa wineries

I agree! I live very close to Va La and I can confidently say that it has the best wines in the area. Two heads above the rest at least. Very nice wines and a lovely tasting experience. Bottles are a little spendy, so be prepared for a $30-40 bottle.

Erie, PA Wine Trail Musts?

Thanks Mr. Kotter! I think we will stick with the NE Erie wineries, but I will put Markko on my list and when I am back in Erie visiting my newly married friend (and I am no longer pregnant!) we will check it out.

Erie, PA Wine Trail Musts?

We plan to start with lunch in Erie (most likely Pie in the Sky or Freeport). We want to end up at Presque Isle. We will only have a few hours all together, so I think keeping it in close proximity to Erie area is ideal.

Looks like Geneva-on-the-Lake is about an hour from Erie. If there are must see wineries along the way, that would help break up the drive. If you know of a few good wineries though, throw them out there. Our itinerary is still very flexible!

State College Area

Schnitzel's Tavern is pretty awesome if you like German food. It's in Bellefonte though, so it's not exactly in State College. Great food though last time I was there, but that was a bit ago.
Faccia Luna rocks and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. :) The wood-fired pizza is so tasty.
Cozy Thai is also really good. Was there a month or so ago and the prices are very good and everyone in my party was very pleased.
The Deli has a great selection of sandwiches and the beer selection was always pretty good.

Erie, PA Wine Trail Musts?

I am planning a bachelorette party for the Erie Wine Trail in July. I am hoping to get a list of the tope 3-5 wineries that must be visited, since there are so many on the trail and we only have one day! I am planning to start the bash with lunch at either Pie in the Sky, Freeport Restaurant, Smugglers Wharf or Pufferbelly. Your thoughts on that are welcome too!

Thanks!

Vegetarian Friendly Recommendations?

I am visiting Chicago this weekend with 2 of my meat-eating friends (I am a vegetarian, but I do eat fish...).

I would like to find a few restaurants (breakfast, lunch and dinner!) that will suit us all.

We are staying at the Palmer House, and will be taking in a Cubs game. Giordano's is on the agenda... Any other thoughts that will have options for all?
