Not a meal, but a filet mignon w/ bernaise many years ago in Holland, MI. Second place, a salt encrusted baked potato in South Africa. I haven't gotten around much so I've been limited mostly to fare available in Michigan.
My current drink of choice:
Honestly, Diet Mt. Dew. I really appreciate a nice cuppa peppermint tea w/ cream and a little sweetener or strong coffee w/ the same.
I really wish I could:
Travel the world, eating and drinking what I can wherever I go (with my Hubby!)
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
A salad of iceberg and romaine lettuce with scallions, chow mein noodles, candied almonds and a poppyseed dressing.
My favorite comfort food:
Oh, the shame. Canned corn mixed in equal parts with instant (Idahoan, prepared) potatoe's. Second, a version of Welsh Rarebit made with a bechemel w/ onion and velvetta over toast.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
I'm sadly lacking in good restaurants here. Only one notable mention: Los Amigos here in Muskegon. Very good mexican food with a delicious Queso Fundido (can't find a chorizo anywhere as good as their's).
My most tattered cookbooks:
Joy of Cooking, given to me by my Grandmother in 1991 (last copyright 1975). Despite the internet, I always check with Joy.
