Catch is great - food, atmosphere, experience - I really recommend it. Besides it will get you out to the Castro which is a great neighborhood to see. Make a reservation, then go early to walk around.
I also agree on this Chinatown thread, if you want to experience it, go and walk around, see it, but then go elsewhere for food. Really. I agree Eric's is very good, I would also recommend Eliza's on CA street or Nan King Road on 9th Ave (that's my neighborhood spot) All 3 use fresh, good quality ingredients without all the grease and MSG.
Not sure if you would consider switching to Thai, but in my opinion in San Francisco, Thai food is the way to go. Thep Phanom in the lower Haight, I can't recommend it highly enough. It will change your life.
Napa Valley - three great dinners?
I'm shocked no one has mentioned Micheal Chiarello's Bottega! Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere - an overall wonderful experience. Get there a bit early for a cocktail on the outdoor patio...
Oh and if you really want something fun, get the crab!
Proposing in Napa, CA looking for some ideas
I highly recommend the terrace at Auberge du Soleil. The view and surroundings are beautiful and they will take amazing care of you.
Congratulations!

You're right, my bad. I think I was just thinking of that magical time when the sun goes down and lights on the bridge come on. It's spectacular.

If you really want to experience a San Francisco instiution, you should really consider having lunch or dinner at Zuni Cafe.
Also, for seafood Aqua is absolutely worth it, but if you want a more casual chic option, try Catch in the Castro.
Oh and Slanted Door is awesome. Don't miss the daikon cakes or the carmelized prawns! (cocktails are also amazing) Try to be there for sunset, great view of the bay and bridge.
The Best Hot Dogs in the Bay Area
I highly recommend you check out Underdog in the Inner Sunset. The atmosphere and friendly vibe can't be beat - not to mention the delicious (and healthy) dogs! Very SF.

Decent mid-scale dinner around Golden Gate Park?
Just a heads-up that the raffle house is on Hugo street - Inner Sunset, not Forest Knolls - is that what they're advertising? Either way, it's gorgeous and you have MANY great options for food. Park Chow is great, you can also try Naan-and-Curry for the best cheap indian, Plutos for salad or Yumma's for falafel in a beautiful garden patio. I live and eat very well in this neighborhood!
