Eating and Drinking in Torino: A Trip Report

Thanks a lot for this delicious report!
We are going to Piemonte in 2 weeks.

"Final" dinner in Milano ...suggestions?

After 2 weeks of Como,-Ticino- Liguria- Monte-Carlo food&wine+anniversary tour we'll stay in Milano for the last night.

Had previously tried several restaurants as both restaurants at Four Seasons, Il Coriandolo, some other......
I really want to have the final dinner in a fine restaurant with the local cuisine - Lombardian-Piemontese...something more classic and pref. centrally located as we'll stay at Principe di Savoia.

I would greatly appreciate your suggestions!
Thanks in advance

Girarrosto Fiorentino in Rome

have been there 2 times for the past 2 years
I'd say it is a perfect place!
The food is lovely, the staff is brilliant!
Maybe I'd like to add some music....soft and not loud.....
The price is fair

La Reserve de Beaulieu

We are back from Monaco and Beaulier.
On arrival we had a lunch at Restaurant des Rois, Thursday lunch.
Well.... The interior, the property itself is absolutely gorgeous!!!!! The service is very good......but not at the level of 2 stars.... The staff though being very charming and friendly is a bit discoordinated (if I could say so).
The food........... mmm.... I would say it was somehow disappointing.
WE opted to a 90Menu at the price of 60 (in this case you just have 1 main cousre - fish or meat) . And we had amasing Bordeaux by glass with our main course.
All in all.... we didn't have regrets about our lunch, it was nice.... But I wouldn't return there for a dinner.
As for the hotel - it is fabulous in every way!!
Enjoy your trip

La Reserve de Beaulieu

We'll stay at La Reserve next week and we are looking forward to have a lunch at their restaurant.
Then we are going to Monaco but I intend to skip Louix XV... actually I intuitionally feel that it will not match my 'dreams'...after having lunch recently at Le Bristol and Le Cinq, and my partner's experience at Ducasse in London...
And we are thinking of a lunch at Chateau Eza also...if we will be in the mood for haute cuisine..... while on riviera - it's always so nice to sit in charming casual places with lovely food...

Locarno, Ascona, Lugano+Como - any special places?

I am going for a short trip to Ticino in late October and I'll be visiting Locarno, Lugano, Ascona and Como(which is in Lombardia).
I would highly appreciate any recommendations about some really good places (quality food with local best products, good wine selections).

Thanks in advance

La Fontaine Gaillon - should I put it on my list?

I have been there once...1 year ago. I was alone for lunch. The service was good...food was nice....but I agree it's too overpriced for what it is....and reviews are not so good lately...you are right - I probably will not give it the second chance...
thanks

La Fontaine Gaillon - should I put it on my list?

what a nice reply))! thanks

I am looking forward to my trip...Riviera, some Liguria and Paris...
after Moscow, where I live it's just a delight to have such a choice of wonderful dining places..... here all the dining is just a stupid vanity fair((

La Fontaine Gaillon - should I put it on my list?

thanks for your comment...
I'll try to clarify.... I am not concentrated on eating only at 'star chefs'.... I would like to try different places.... food is important of course, as well as the service and the ambiance....
did you have a bad expirience at LFG? I have read some nice reviews before....but still I am curious about hearing other opinions.
Lunch at Eric Frechon is on the list by the moment anyway...

La Fontaine Gaillon - should I put it on my list?

We'll have 3 dinners and 3 lunches during 21-24 Sept. I have been to Paris several times, my husband - never. So I want to show him some different places.

as for dinners for the moment I am planning -1 Cafe del Homme(to let the Tower be the view for him), 2- La Fontaine Gallion, 3- La Rotonde/ or Le Dome( I like them both);

as for lunch 1- Le Cinq, 2 Le Bristol (I am especially interested in outdoor court lunch)/ or??? something traditional and simple (in 1th,4th,5th or 6th), 3- L' Avenues/or Chez Andre

I'd appreciate your opinions....thanks

Rome - Best Sunday Brunch, seasonal specialties and tips on coffee?

My favorite Sunday Brunch in Rome is at rooftop restaurant at Hassler Hotel! Amazing view over the sity, excellent food, good winelist and topnotch service. The price is reasonable for such an experience. I do it everytime when I happen to be in Rome on Sunday.
Good luck!
going there next monday)) cannot wait!
