ISO Penang Curry Paste

Does anyone know where I can find some decent Penang curry paste downtown? The only one I seem to find is from 'Taste of Thai' and I'm not a huge fan of their products.

Bodega Catering

Has anyone every used Bodega for catering or been to an event they catered?

I'm thinking of using them for a party and would love to hear any impressions or experiences with them.

Thanks in advance!

Caplanskys on College St - impressions?

A group of 3 of us went last night at around 9. We were a little nervous about going so close to the opening but were too excited to wait longer. First off, the new space is beautiful - they really did a nice job.

After reading everyone's comments in this thread we were pretty worried about how the service would be. I'm happy to say we had no problems at all. Our server was very friendly and prompt. She seemed a bit inexperienced, but there were certainly no issues there.

Now for the food! We all had medium fatty sandwiches. The flavour was great, as always, but I echo cabernet05's comment that a few pieces were a little tough. Our meat was a bit dry as well. It definitely wasn't as moist as it was at the Monach, though I'm confident they'll work it out.

We had the poutine as well which was excellent. Fries were perfectly crips and held their own with the gravy. It could have used a bit more cheese by the smoked meat gravy more than made up for it.

For dessert we tried the cheesecake which was delicious - it was creamy and light the crust was amazing.

Overall we had good experience. The only downside was the dryness of the meat. I'll definitely be back but I'll give it a couple of weeks for them to sort out any issues. I definitely want to try a few of their new menu items.

Stand out dishes at Cava?

I was there last Saturday and had many of the dishes dubchild mentioned. My personal faves were the sardines two ways and the skirt steak, which was just perfectly cooked. Hope you enjoy it!

Toronto - Private Room for 50 people?

Thank you!

Sunday is definitely an option. We are looking to do a sit down dinner. We have been to Quince before and loved it so I suppose we could try to arrange for them to open on a Sunday.

Toronto - Private Room for 50 people?

I'm hoping you can help me with this one. I just got engaged and am looking for a restaurant with a private room (or a small restaurant that could be booked) for about 50 people. I want it to be in Toronto, but don't really care about which neighbourhood. I'm also flexible with the type of food though I'm kind of leaning towards bistro cooking for the less adventurous guests.

Any help/past experiences you could provide would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Weezie’s – A breath of fresh air (review + pics)

I've had the mac and cheese at both. Weezie's is better IMO. It has a stronger cheese flavour and the noodles were cooked just right. Czehoski's just didn't have the depth of flavour. Also, it didn't seem to be in the oven for long so it didn't have that great crusty top.
