Rehearsal Luncheon in South Bay
we got married at Trump two years ago and were very happy with our rehearsal dinner at Baleen across the parking lot from the Porto Fino Hotel. Really nice upstairs overlooking the marina. We also looked at Blue Water Grill and Kincaids which both have plenty of room. All three of these are in the Redondo area.
Deep fried or barbequed turkey -- Thanksgiving
Mr. Cecil's does fried turkeys to go as well as sides and such - pretty good and well packaged
DineLA- running reviews of places so far
Also did Foundry last night with a combo of DineLA and regular menu eaters. Service was slow at best but management couldn't have been nicer (started dinner at 8:15 and didn't get out till 11:45). They mentioned that they're trying work the kinks out with OpenTable and have had some staffing issues. Food was fine, nothing really stand out. Cocktails and wine list were not great.
New Sherman Oaks Restaurant - Blue Dog Beer Tavern
My folks ate there yesterday and said the food, atmosphere and owners were great - they even asked for pictures of the family pooches for the walls. My dad mentioned that they have a wonderful looking beer selection which I can't wait to try.

The Ivy ( i think both shore and robertson) has a good stuffed artichoke served cold with a nice aioli

Rivera: Review with pics
went to rivera on tuesday - big let down. good bar with a great selection of fresh ingredients, dinner was a different story. ordered several of the snacks and starters and was less than impressed (especially after the glowing review it got in LAT). ordered both pork dishes for dinner (the mole was decent but the braised pork wasn't braised at all and way too fatty to be served at such a trendy place)
would go back for a drink but not the food
