Denver Food Scene
Comparing the food in Denver and New Orleans is like comparing a Chevette and a Corvette.
Looking for a Memorable Fine Dining Experience Close to Perimeter Mall
Three ideas,
La Grotta - in the Crown Plaza, but operated by a separate group.
Cristinia - not far from the Crown Plaza - Continental.
McKendrick - steakhouse
Day trip to DC
You might try the cafeteria in the Congressional Office Building. While it is not next to the Smithsonian, you would be next to people running (sort of) the country.
Peanuts in soda?
Was raised in Central Ohio; in the 1950's and 1960's the peanuts in coke was a frequent treat. Other times, we put M&M in the small Coke's, but they stuck to the side and bottom, if we were slow to drink.
Lobster tails
Costco has lobster tails for about $10 each. We like for cook these on a charcoal grill. Usually about 10 - 15 minutes.
I am intersted in suggestions to make this good experience even better. We usually cut the back of the lobster tail before broiling.
We have had difficulty removing the tail from the shell.
Any suggestions or observation would be appreciated.
Cast iron pan question - not one I've seen asked before
Our cast iron is gritty as well. Doesn't seem to affect the cooking. Usually after the pan has cooled, I wash with warm soapy water, but don't scrap (less I was careless in the cooking).
However, it is good to get the pan completely dry. So while washing, turn on the oven and warm say 225 degrees. Turn off oven and put pan in the oven and excess water will be evaporated.
Business Lunch - BWI
Meeting important client for lunch. We are both flying to BWI for this meeting and would like a good place to eat and talk.
