Been searching the boards but can't quite find what I'm looking for. Family is coming to NYC and they would like a group of us to go out to dinner. Although, I would love to show them some of my favorite spots, it may be out of their price range.
Would love to show them a great time as they recently arrived home from serving overseas in the military.
They are STILL talking about the price fix dinner I took them to years ago at Candela that included 3 courses for $25 dollars. (remember that restaurant off of Irving Place? I think it is now a Brother Jimmy's.)
Price Range-$30 per person (not including alcohol)
Cuisine-Italian, American, Greek
Neighborhood-preferably on the east side below 34th street

You should try Kuma Inn on the LES. BYOB and Filipino/Thai Fusion. I really love the food there.
The Stanton Social is in the area you're going to be in as well as Schiller's Liquor Bar.

Thanks for all the suggestions. My husband and I went to Trattoria Pesce Pasta on Bleecker and had Lobster and Clams in spicy tomato sauce. Not quite as spicy as we wanted it to be and we had to add in some red pepper flakes for heat.
Will definitely try some of your suggestions!
Baking with disposable cake pan
I want to make my mother in law her favorite coconut cake and the recipe calls to use three 8 inch cake pans (layered coconut cake.)
I live in Manhattan and space is limited and I don't have the room to buy 3 cake pans.
Should I:
Buy disposable aluminum cake pans
or
Divvy up the batter into two 9 inch pans?

Seeking a Lobster Roll In Lower Manhattan
Luke's has a great lobster roll. Still thinking about it two weeks later. I personally love The Mermaid Inn as well because it's served on a butter brioche bun rather than a hot dog roll. Not too much mayo and delicious. Served with Old Bay Fries.

I purchased a beef tenderloin for a dinner a "Day After Christmas" dinner on Saturday the 26th. Should I keep the beef in the fridge until then OR freeze it until Saturday?
