Tot w/ FOOD ALLERGIES-- Bakery recs??

THANKS EVERYONE!!!! I really appreciate the ideas. I'm not worried about cross contamination with eggs, but I am with nuts because of the nature of the allergy, so I will definitely try the nut-free places you recommended!

Thanks again.

Tot w/ FOOD ALLERGIES-- Bakery recs??

Hello, My toddler is allergic to a number of things (milk, eggs, nuts). I have never given him a bakery treat because, even if I can avoid those ingredients, I am always worried about cross contamination. A vegan or Kosher bakery would be a good start, but we still have the concern with the nuts if they don't specifically cater to those with allergies by using separate equipment or not using nuts on the premises. I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a bakery that is sensitive to those with food allergies. We are in West Roxbury. We would love to find a place in Boston/Newton/Brookline. But, any leads will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Bristol, RI today-- looking for recs.

Thanks everyone- We went to Quito's and it was great and a fine place for our baby. He loved watching all the action. After that, we got ice cream at the Daily Scoop, which was also delicious and much more bang for your buck than any place around Boston.

Bristol, RI today-- looking for recs.

Hi everyone,

We are heading to Bristol, RI today. I'm trying to convince my husband that we should relocate to the RI coast so I want to make sure we have a great lunch. I am looking for a casual seafood place with a great lobster roll. We have a 1 year old, so we want to go somewhere baby friendly. I'd also love recs for good coffee shops, bakeries, pizza, local specialties, etc. The recs don't have to be limited to Bristol. We will be coming down through Barrington and will also head to Warren and then probably will look around Warwick if we have time.

Thanks!!!!

Silent Chef Caterers?

Does anyone have experience with this catering company located in Scituate? If so, could you let me know how you liked it? We are thinking of hiring them for a memorial service.

Thanks in advance!

ideas for leftover fresh ricotta

Hi all, I have a ton of fresh ricotta sitting in my refridgerator. Any ideas for tasty ways to use it up, the simpler the better because I have a two-week old baby.

Thanks!

Any good meals at apple picking farms?

Hello Hounds,

My husband and I are going apple picking this weekend, and I am wondering if anyone knows of an apple picking farm that also has a good restaurant (or even a good snackbar) so we can also have a tasty lunch. A lot of places just have a farm stand shop where they sell baked goods and some have a grill with hotdogs and such, but I thought it would be fun to try to find one with a restaurant.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Help! Tasty dishes that freeze well for after baby is born

Hello,

I am due to have a baby in a few weeks and I want to stock my freezer with tasty dishes to eat when I'm too busy to cook. Does anyone have any ideas for tasty stews, braises, casseroles, etc. that freeze well? The more veggies/beans/whole grains the dish contains, the better, but we are not vegitarian and like chicken and beef and lamb, as well. I've made a big batch of each of my old standbys-- chicken cacciatore, chicken country captain, beef and been chili, caribbean rice and beans, etc.-- but I would love some new ideas.

Thanks in advance!!
