Best Italian in SFO?

Hi fellow Hounds!
My wife and I are visiting SF for a few days and will be staying at the edge of Cow Hollow/ Russian Hill area (around Van Ness and Lombard). 9/13-9/16
Looking for some recommendations on the Best Italian in the area and of Course, Seafood places as rated and visited by locals. Not into extremely expensive stuffy places though.
Also, who has the best Cioppino?
Thanks!
Joe

Best Veal chop in NOLA

Who has the best veal chop in NOLA?
Will be there 2nd week of Sept. Also, don't the Oysters start getting good about then?

oyster bars

I definitley agree!! Pascal's is the best for oysters! Especially in the winter, the'yre huge! They still do the poker chip thing. Love talking to Eddie at the bar too! The foods good their also. Whenever they have the Veal Chop special I get it!!

Dining advice for a New Orleans novice

If you want some excellent cajun go to the Bon Ton cafe on magazine. Not too far from Mother's. For nice, try Broussard's in the quarter. Fantastic! Last time there I talked with head chef Gunther Preuss over a fine cigar in the bar after dinner. what a great guy.

Uptown Eats?

Brigston's is a must! Cooter's has excellent RB po-boys! Also, Parisol's. Is the car running? Gotta go down to Pascal's Manale! That oyster bar is the Best!

St. Louis to NO in Early September

I am planning a similar trip in September except I am leaving from KC going to Vicksburg, MS for two days and then on down to New Orleans. I’m going to maybe try out Doe’s eat place in Little Rock. Specialties are steak, chili and tamales. There two in Mississippi. Or maybe another place that I found on a cool website called www.roadfood.com. Check out this site! You’ll find what you are looking for!! By the way... don’t forget to check out the Bon Ton Café in the CBD when you get to NOLA! Try it for lunch! Only M-F though!
