Still yet another Italian restaurant to open in Marlboro

Went there today for late lunch.... Food is incredibly good.... Best calamari I've had in nj, and the veal was very tasty.... Friendly service, decent prices (2starters,2 main, coffee choc cake... 77$)....very worth trying

Foie Gras in Old Bridge!?! New "JUST Restaurant" opens on Route 9

Went there on Friday night. Room is very nice, food is OK, prices are a bit expensive (2 with a half bottle $150) Too many nicer places to go drop $200 for a dinner for two, to go back

Lemon-Oregano Roasted Potatoes

an hour at 450 at least in my oven was to long! potatoes tasted OK....nothing to write home about. The kitchen did smell wonderful though and certainly helped to whet the appetite

Lemon-Oregano Roasted Potatoes

I put these in the oven 20 minutes ago. if they taste anything near as nice as the kitchen smells right now they will be the best potatoes ever made

Mark Bittman: Expert in Residence!

why do recipe writers and food 'journalists' insist on fuelling the balsamic vinegar fraud by constantly keeping it in their recipes and conversations. To find *real* balsamic is extremely hard and even when you do it is beyond expensive, so why not just use real red wine vinegar in lieu of bs balsamic or any other type of true vinegar like sherry? I know you like the sherry vinegar but what other types would you recommend people use if they cannot find REAL balsamic

thanks

Can You Really Seal the Juices into Meat?

why does this even matter and really who cares other than a bunch of foody snobs??? What does matter is that when you plate your steak, you and your guests are so enamored with the taste that all you can say is: "ahhhhhhhhhhh, dee effing licous" Read McGee's book cover to cover...at the end of the day that's what he wants you to achieve with your cooking

Masala Kitchen, Marlboro, NJ

I had lunch there in March. so-so lunch buffet and really not worth going back for especially when there are decent options down the road in Edison. Also, whenever I pass by lately the parking lot is empty and in fact I actually thought it had closed down. Empty restaurants make me very nervous...who knows how fresh the food is??

How to Grill (Almost) Everything

please help. What exactly is a rib steak and where do you buy them? From whole foods, wegmans, A&P, shoprite, stop and shop I have never ever seen rib steak for sale and I eat meat at least 4 times a week. thanks

When Pasta Met Sauce

egg pasta isn't an easy find at the local NJ supermarket :) Short noodles made for jewish type cooking yes, but no riccioli
rigatoni rotelle, sfoglia spaghetti etc etc

thanks for your comments

When Pasta Met Sauce

And don't forget there's a big difference between modest handmade flour-and-water strozzapreti and egg-rich tajarin and tagliatelle.

The Falls tinton falls

Had lunch on Sunday. ordered the Duck Confit Quesadilla. Burnt, dry, tasteless and $11 for three small 'dilla's. What a total let down. All in all just another wanabee ripoff
