Atomic Bean Cafe in Cambridge? Yeah, coffee not so good definitely subpar. I had the small regular coffee and tasted much like the decaf from a drip maker even though it wasn't decaf. Only been there once. Maybe will go again soon to see if they have changed anything. Love to spend my money as well on independent coffee places. It's been 1369 for me mostly so would love to see some competition. Besides, seems like there should be plenty of space for another indy coffee joint. The whole place gave me the feel of some weird twilight zone. That could probably be helped a lot with just some proper music. Also, in comparison to 1369, there's just not enough food variety. Have a sweet tooth, and they did a worse job than star market in terms of giving me delectable choices. They do have free wifi and a large lounge space though which 1369 is limited by. Might be a good place to go and just do work. |

Like all the replies here, I wouldn't say that this is a go to place. But, I live in the area so it's nice to stop by and grab a bite to eat. The sides are expensive for the portions and flavor. Seriously, it would probably do their business a lot of good in the long run if they just gave an extra heapful of mashed potatoes. They're certainly not gourmet food so might as well cater to the home soul. That might actually give character to the "MASS CHICKEN" sign out front. The chicken is priced just alright ($3 a quarter leg, $5 a half chicken) but is a bit difficult to make a complete meal just out of that. That said, I often run by there on my way home from work and get a whole chicken or just a quarter leg. Then, I'll cut up the meat from the chicken and make some pasta noodles. It's also quick to throw the carcass in the slow cooker to make broth which actually turns out to be quite tasty. I hope they can adjust themselves. It'd be very cool to see a joint like theirs stick around in this part of town. They also seem to be neat people so would like to see them do well. |
