Pizza - why high temperature?
my last experiment- crank oven to full temp, while i heat my largest cast iron fry pan on the stove top. flip pan over, slide pizza onto pan bottom and place in oven asap. im going to try parchment paper next time- thats a good idea.

tonight we are having a stir fry with ground pork and green beans in a sweet ginger sauce w jasmine rice.

pomadoro- veal scallopini w green olive risotto, arugula salad. we go every year for my ladies birthday. go early well before dinner rush (crush). the only time we eat veal all year. very good.

our "go to" place, almost everything is great, 15 + years now. dundun noodles,fried bean curd with either sauce,two sided crispy noodles,small steamer buns, grandma pie (what the hell is in those? so good that i probably dont want to know), ....chive pie, even the most pedestrian sounding stuff is a notch above, asparagus with chicken, chicken wings, peking ravs, all great. dry cooked sliced beef, bean curd with broccolli, ...

chicken wings from cafe 88 in winchester- good non authentic chinese take out/ delivery - big crispy salty fat bombs when im too tired/lazy to cook or leave the house. a shameful guilty pleasure- usually with a house fried rice . burp.
I need some decent watermelon today or tomorrow
ive set a personal record for watermelon consumption this year- cant get enough of it- havent found much correlation between color and sweetness- better luck with full size melons vs "personal" size- just had a killer cantalope too- all from market basket.

i second louie's- ask for it well done -they run out of dough every night so call in your order for pick up to avoid disapointment. we are lucky to have it for our local pie option.
Premade Pizza Dough For sale?
not for nothin,but- we can make pizza dough from scratch in about 10-12 minutes and the rise time is no longer than the oven warm up and ingredient prep time. thin crust, crunchy high heat style pie. no dough conditioner or freezer taste, puts most store bought dough to shame on the cheap. just say'n.
Dali's Bread
weird. we felt like the bread was the low point of our last dali experience. iggys or paninis is so much better. to each his own. i think the bread your after is sold at bobs food in medford too.

call the pizzaria regina wellington circle location. no, not as good as the original but very close when we last went there. easy parking, seemed like plenty of seating. we allways order a roasted veg and canandian bacon pie well done. mmmm.

thats good to hear as i have been totally disapointed there 4 visits running. swore the place off last time actually. if i had a time machine and could bring you back there 15 years ago when robert was behind the counter at the pit you'd be.. well as happy as i was. im a blue ribbon supporter too.
Best Chinese in Cambridge or Somerville
i live down the street from wang's and don't think much of it. the frozen dumplings are pretty good but the freshness of their ingredients in the main menu has been questionable and it is often very oily. we love mary chung's in cental square, if we don't go there once a week they ask us "what happened?" some chowhounds say it isn't authentic- well we've had to wait for a table and been the only non- asians in the place. very few clunkers on the menu. even her american chinese standards (chicken wings, pork fried rice,general gau chicken, etc) is a notch or two above what you'll find elsewhere. sometimes we get a craving for that stuff too!

morena's- killer escarole calzone, i grab one for lunch whenever i can find my way over there from woburn. their drink selection sucks though- the liquor store next door sells italian sodas.
Gloucester pizza
+ virgillios - they have great everything and i would take a bullet to find out how they make their pizza sauce. if you can get there early enough to get a fresh pie not a slice from the heatlamp case..

ive gotta try the great taste soon- had good dimsum @ new shanghai but be careful when you order unpriced selections off the menu- we got a sub-2 pound catfish there and didnt ask the price, yikes! over 35 bucks.
