Parmesan Kaiser Rolls

It would be helpful to have had a series of photos (like with the challah bread braiding on this site) to help us figure out the forming of these rolls.

edmonton gardening question (seedlings)

The absolute BEST place for organic herb seedlings is Inspired Market Garden near Carvel. They have a huge variety, better than you will find anywhere else. Last year I got stevia, perilla (shiso) and sorrel. They are located on Range Road 25, about 30 km west of Edmonton. I know that they have a good variety of heirloom tomato seedlings and peppers. They are also at the CityCentre Market on 104th on Saturdays and the greenhouse location opens May 2nd.

Good Eats on Lonsdale, N.Van?

When in the Vancouver area I usually stay with friends just off Lonsdale in North Van. We have our favorite restaurants but I'd like other recommendations that I could get them to try. We have adventurous palates so would be up for most any kind of cuisine. Within walking distance of W. 15th if possible. Thanks.

Muffin Tops

Anyone have some good recipes specifically for small-batch, toaster oven muffin top pans? Can regular muffin recipes (perhaps halved) be used as well? Thanks.

Pomegranates still available?

Thanks for the responses all. I have to confess that I really needed the actual fruit for a still life painting! (Not really a food topic I guess). I've seen the packages of loose seeds at Costco too and they did have boxes of actual poms a while back but I didn't buy any then. Guess I've "missed the boat" for this year. Unless I want to fly to Washington! Beggsy, when you first mentioned seeds, I thought you meant that I could grow my own, ha ha!

Ice cream maker? - Vancouver

I got an electric Cuisinart "Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt and Sorbet" maker a number of years ago from Costco and have had no complaints and have made lots of great ice cream and sorbet. Yes, the bowl must reside in your freezer most of the time, taking up precious room, but in winter I just leave it outside...I live in Alberta!

Pomegranates still available?

Seems like I've seen pomegranates everywhere in the last few weeks. Now they seem to have disappeared. Is their season over? When might they come on the market again?

Buckwheat Flour in Edmonton

I've seen buckwheat groats in the bulk section of our Spruce Grove Superstore. I'm wondering, if you're really stuck and/or adventurous, if you could grind that stuff down to a flour consistency in a food processor or blender and then sift it?

Thanks for the tips. Ocean Odessey is closest so I'll try them first and post is I'm successful.

Black Cod (Sablefish)...where to find around Edmonton?

Hi, I just found a delectable recipe for miso-glazed black cod but have never seen it for sale around here, although it is supposedly a Pacific Northwest species. I can get smoked black cod, which is lovely, but I want it plain to try my own glazes. Anyone know?

How is the new "100"? (Edmonton)

Thanks Radar and Bob Mac. We walked past the place on Sat. night after dinner at La Ronde (for old times sake). The outside looked very chic (skinny neon numerals!) and black-suited gentlemen at the door manning the velvet rope; lots of folks lined up waiting to be ushered in.

Looking for rennet in Edmonton

I want to try making my own cheese but have not been successful in finding a source for rennet in either liquid or tablet form. Any ideas?
