i can read hiragana, and katagana.. hopefully we'll get by. I just wanna make sure I don't miss out on the more special things, instead of your typical skewered items.
I agree that crab is best in the winter but I don't have the opportunity to go during that time. My friends haven't tried the all crab meal, so they're pretty interested in going.
I'll discuss the Fuku/Keishoan dilemma with my friends. thanks.

Hey all, I'm planning a trip to japan in july with around 5 others but i wanted to start doing some research now! I've been browsing bento.com and looked for some restaurants there. We'll probably be staying in shinjuku/asukusa(sp).
Basically I;m wondering if these are good choices for some college students who don't have a huge budget to spend.
Found:
Yakitori - Keishoan
All whale restaurant - Kujiraya
Crab meal - Douraku
Looking for:
sushi - (going to go to tsukiji but looking for more)
izakaya - (donjaca - can i get by with minimal japanese?)
