i was not suggesting that Luna Rossa is worth a trip from Italy or whatever your zipcode may be.. mine happens to be close to the resto in question.. Lines at Lucali, Buttermilk and the Frankies empire are insane and I just think this is a nice spot with a nice owner trying to do the right thing..it seems a crime for it to be empty while there are 1 hour waits elsewhere..

while carroll gardens is having a bit of a moment ( i.e. buttermilk channel, prime meats ) a little gem is quietly waiting in the wings.. i have been a fan of Lunna Rossa's take out for awhile but the other night I could not be bothered with Buttermilk Channel's one hour wait for a bar seat and strolled down to Lunna Rossa. Sadly, it was empty..why is this..? Salvatore, the owner, is from NAPLES.. all he knows is pizza and it shows.. I am making it my mission to fix this.. please chime in with opinions.. decor is tough, i agree, but c'mon.. that pizza is nice..
