Caterer for Wedding

Definitely vote for Jayne's Gourmet!
We hired Sumptuous for our wedding and the company dissolved 2 months before the date.
Jayne stepped in and took charge, she did a fabulous job - very organized and the food was great!

New fish n' chips at Broadview

does anyone know if there batter is actually gluten free??

Wedding Reception Locations

Sumptuous is no longer in business - the two partners split up!
We had them booked for our wedding before this happened and found out about 3 month before the date - needless to say I was flipping out!
But they did everything to reassure us that they were finishing up all contracts accordingly and we would be looked after.
The catering ended up being taken over by a woman name Jayne

And she was OUTSTANDING!

Stanton Social or Stanton Factory?

Wow, I am shocked by these posts, as the Stanton Social has been one of my favorite food memories in NYC. My Fiance and I went for dinner the day after he proposed and enjoyed a delicious dinner in a great atmosphere. Our waiter was fantastic, and the food even better!
We really enjoyed the crab cake 'corn dogs' and the drinks were excellent, I tried two different martinis and they were both equally delicious. We are from Toronto, and heading back to NY next weekend and already have our reservation (made thru opentable which makes it real simple!)

Unbelievable Food, Fun Atmosphere, No Budget

Stanton Social has to be one of my top choices for great food and great atmosphere!
Love their crab cake corn dogs !

Best Pad Thai?

Just Thai on Church St (just N. of Maitland)

Half Price Fajitas at Sneaky Dees

I find that Sneaky Dee's nachos are some of the worst, on account of them being covered in what tastes like sweet pizza sauce, definitely not one of my favorite places for nachos. But a few friends of mine really love their fajitas, and go all the time for the special on Tuesday.

Thanksgiving Vacation - where to eat?

The FERMENTING CELLAR - distillery district

We were so set on the fermenting cellar but we realize now it is waaayyy out of our league!\

And last time we went to take a peek at it we walked past the Thompson Landry Gallery and fell in love with it.
Much more workable space and totally our style still.

I think we will be using that space!

Did you do the ceremony and the recetption there?
We are planning on doing both there.

caterers...who's the best?

well its for my wedding reception, so I dont really want to have to bother with all the food set up and stuff, as well we want 'food stations' so i assume someone would have to man those

thanks

caterers...who's the best?

oops, sorry, made my reply above

caterers...who's the best?

Anyone used Sumptuous Catering or Presidential Gourmet? Those are the top two we are thinking of.

Cocktail Wedding

caterers...who's the best?

Cocktail Wedding

le petit liban is no longer open

The FERMENTING CELLAR - distillery district

Anyone been to an event at the Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District?
My fiance are thinking of holding our wedding reception there.
Thanks

caterers...who's the best?

Just wanted some opinions on who would be best to cater a wedding reception in Toronto.
Anyone have any that the used that were exceptionally good (or exceptionally bad)
Thanks

Restaurant ideas for my all-potato diet?

Best sweet potato fries in NYC are at Phebe's Tavern and Grill!!

How's the Burger at Rare (on Bleeker)?

Best sweet potato fries in NYC are at Phebe's Tavern and Grill!!

I bet their burgers are good too, had the wings and greek salad, they were delicious!

Babycakes--am i missing something?

Well, i did go back to babycakes, and unfortunately I was a bit disappointed this time.

Their chocolate wheat free cupcake was very very dense, and not very sweet (last time it was light as air, and sooo sooo chocolatey)

However, I did have one of their cinnamon sugar raisin buscuits (wheat free) and it was delicious.

Utopia report (Toronto)

they were voted best nachos by Now Magazine for 2006... anyone tried the nachos there? I was going to the other nite, but it was too busy to get a table :(

Anyone tried the pub at College Park?

used to really like it there, my BF and i would go for nachos. But had a really bad experience.
The waiter basically dumped my BF's drink on him and then offered to bring us a new one, but he was SOAKED, so were were like, i think we need to leave and get changed!
But then ewe even went back about 10 minutes later, and didnt even get the free dirnks or anything comp'd at all!
After we were done eating a ton of nachos he offered us dessert, like why would we want that after??
We never went back!

Lotus or Kittichai??

Taro fries @ Lotus were to die for!

Babycakes--am i missing something?

I thought the place was super cute, and fantastic for a wheat free (almost gluten free) foodie like me. I am not sure what cupcakes you tasted, but i thought they were delicious!

I even made my meat-eating, gluten-eating, sugar-eating boyfriend get one, and he loved it too!!

I am going back to NYC tomorrow in fact (I am from Toronto) and I will be stopping in to pick up some delicious babycakes :)

Burrito Boyz

oops, ya I realised it is big fat burrito, my bad :P

Chip Nuts

Wow, really! Thats great news, I love their shops, but they are quite far away (St. Jacobs and Niagara Falls) since my parents live in Burlignton (and I in Toronto) I foresee that I will be stopping in there often!
