Help me ID which restaurant in DC this was... Christmas tree...

In December of 2008 I had to go to DC for business. I had a very nice dinner at a restaurant somewhere in DC, but no one remembers the name. I took the attached picture of a beautiful Christmas tree. Can anyone help?

Great Saturday Night Dinner in Big Easy

Maybe I should add that we'd like a fun, bustling atmosphere, doesn't have to be a 'white tablecloth' and a full set of forks, kind of place.

Great Saturday Night Dinner in Big Easy

Couple of quick views I found say that 7 is empty on Saturday nights? Not really a good vibe, if so..

Great Saturday Night Dinner in Big Easy

A group of about 4 of us gentleman (plus whatever ladies we can pick up along the way) is visiting new orleans for this coming weekend (aug 21 to 23) and we're looking for someplace with a great atmosphere for dinner on Saturday. We're flexible on cuisine and price shouldn't be outrageous but can be quality appropriate. What places promise a memorable dining experience on a Saturday night? We are staying in the French Quarter, but anyplace that is a modest taxi ride or walk away is fine, especially if it's in some other memorable area.

Thanks,

Tony

Great Oyster Dive in New Orleans?

Halfshell, that is actually very helpful. So are crawfish also out of season?

Also, what do you guys think about Joey K's (Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives) http://www.fancast.com/tv/Diners%2C-Drive-ins-and-Dives/97569/1080242359/Regional-Classics/videos

Or Casamento's (also on an episode of DDD: http://www.fancast.com/tv/Diners%2C-Drive-ins-and-Dives/97569/954240113/Cookin-it-Old-School/videos)

So shrimp is in season?

A new Orleans Jazz Brunch - something other than Arnaud's!

Ok, maybe this is sacrilege, I'm not sure. I'm heading to New Orleans this weekend with some friends. Last time we were there we did the Sunday Jazz Brunch at Arnaud's. Honestly, I think they liked it, but to me, it was blah. Partially the snooty atmosphere, and I feel like we had a disrespectful waiter. First, the clientele was all 100 year old couples with their grand kids, probably talking about their trust funds and their plans to leave them their slaves when they die.

I'm looking to find a place with a cool, nice, perhaps trendy, and definitely less octogenarian brunch. Music would be great, atmosphere would be plus, but we don't necessarily need white tablecloths and salad forks, if you know what I'm saying.

Thanks for your time,

Mr. Tony

Great Oyster Dive in New Orleans?

Hey Everyone, I'm going to New Orleans with a group of friends this weekend, and I am looking to find a place (probably on Saturday for lunch) - ad Oyster bar. Atmosphere I'm going for is a dive where u can suck down a ton of great oysters at an affordable price. I'm sure there is some great or famous place that you locals can help us pick out. We are staying in the French Quarter, so the closer the better, but it doesn't necessarily have to be 'in' the French Quarter.

Thanks!

Good spot for working dinner in Sherman Oaks

Thanks for all of your suggestions, I didn't get to read AngiePangie's suggestions until after the venue was selected, but I'll prob scope out some of those suggestions next time around.

We ended up selected Boneyard Bistro. One of my associates got there before me and had a mini panic attack because the place was sorta dark inside. He ended up opting to sit outside by a heatlamp, which actually turned out to be just fine. We did (after our meal) get begged by a homeless degenerate through the vinyl widows, but I can't particularly fault the restaurant for that. I more blame city of LA for not running them off to San Francisco where they belong, but I digress.

So the lighting turned out to be fine for our needs, and the outside table adequate for sharing a few business papers. My one associate really enjoyed the dry tomato that was a garnish on his salad. The cole slaw was interesting, in a good way. The barbecue sauce was boring I must say, very unflavorful. Not a complaint to you folks, but to the establishment for sure.

Also, both my companions wants to substitute sides for a salad and it could 'absolutely' not be done. It's sorta one thing I could maybe understand in a hardcore meat and carb old school BBQ place. But let's face it, Boneyard Bistro is the douchebag version of a BBQ joint, so come on, allow salad substitutions.

Interestingly, the kid from A Christmas Story - Peter Billingsley - was seated just inside and we were able to gaze upon his celebrity visage through the glass. Nowadays he's a producer and Vince Vaughn buddy and coattail rider.

Also, porn star Tera Patrick and her pimp/rock star husband and Biohazard band member Evan Seinfeld sat right next to us with a couple of twinks. I believe Tera Patrick had the same pulled pork entre I had. I suppose it could have been beef, but I'd like to imagine her a pork eater.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions!

Good spot for working dinner in Sherman Oaks

Hello all,

I am looking to have a meeting tonight with some business associates in the Sherman Oaks area. We need a restaurant that has good food, but is also brightly lit, and not super loud of chaotic, has ample table space for a working dinner tonight. And by working I mean we'll be talking about business, looking over paperwork, etc. Preferably someplace with personality, good food, etc.

Any ideas?
