Corned beef hash??? ANyone??!
The biscuit at Quality tastes like there's about a stick of butter in each one and it's oh. so. good. They're about 3" in diameter IIRC, and definitely my favorite.
LOVE their corned beef hash, by the way. It's hard for me to go to Quality and NOT order it.
Party of one for the bar?
I've wanted to go ever since they opened- curious about the poutine! :) I thought there were only like 4 seats available at the bar, though?

I didn't know that Blue Palms served food? Will definitely keep it in mind next time I see a show at the Fonda.

Thanks for all the great suggestions- why not Village Idiot late night? Because it turns into a meat market scene? :)

Ah- totally forgot about Hungry Cat and The Bowery- two of my dependable faves in that area.
Never heard of Krong Ted- how does it compare to Jitlada/Ruen Pair?
Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!

Party of one for the bar?
Hey guys,
Been eating out alone quite a bit these days, and looking for recommendations of restaurants (other than sushi) where a gal can eat by herself at the bar.
I'd prefer a place that serves food (doesn't have to be the full menu) at the bar and has a good selection of drinks as opposed to a place where you take a number and the food is brought to your table.
Some of my favorites that fit this category are Jar, Lucques, BLD, Cecconi's, Tavern ... but I'm open to all price ranges and types of food. I'm located in West Hollywood, but willing to travel for good food. :)
Thanks!!
P.S. I know there was a thread way back when about solo dining, but I can't seem to find it. Anyone know which one I'm referring to?

Lucques

Haagen Dazs Fleur de Sel Caramel ice cream
The newly reopened Pavilions on the NW corner of Santa Monica & Robertson carries this... just picked up a pint yesterday!
Best Upscale Burger
Jar, $18, available at the bar only, comes with the best fries in LA too.
Dessert: Grace, Hatfields or something else?
Which of the two restaurants has better dessert, in your opinion? Or maybe something else withing walking distance of the two restaurants? (Is Milk open late?)
Thanks so much!! :)
Hatfields or Table 8?
Which of the two do you prefer? A good friend is coming in from out of town and I've narrowed it down to these two... Is the food/price comparable? Approximately how much would it be for 3 courses and a bottle of wine?
Are there any dishes you particularly recommend? I am dying to try the porterhouse for 2 at Table 8, but the friend is not a big red meat eater.
Thanks so much!
Late dinner Sunday night?
A friend of mine is getting in town late Sunday night... we're looking to grab dinner around 9-9:30pm. He's landing in Burbank and I live in the Miracle Mile, so anything in between would be great.
Thanks!!
Recs for a birthday dinner?
Oooh... this place looks good. I'd like to take her somewhere a leetle bit more upscale, but I will def. try out Blair's on my own. Thanks!
Recs for a birthday dinner?
I love Lucques, and I agree that it does sort of have a slight romantic vibe... She's been to Jiraffe before so I think we'll stay away (I still haven't been though... haha)
Thanks for all the suggestions..
Another place that I left off my list is Table 8... how is it?
Recs for a birthday dinner?
Thanks so much for repsonding... The roommie and I both love AOC, but I'd love to take her somewhere she hasn't been.
I haven't been to Mako- any particular dishes you recommend?
Recs for a birthday dinner?
I'd like to take my roommate out for her birthday... looking to spend around $150 for the two of us. We are in the Miracle Mile area, so I'm open to suggestions pretty much anywhere within a 20 minute drive.
I've been scanning the boards and the following are on my short list:
Lucques
Mako
Grace
Norman's
AOC (though she's been here before- I'd like to take her someplace new)
Would these places fall within my budget? Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!
