Dan's and Fran's are definitely not free-range organic. Elevation Burger is, and Terra Burger is organic (don't know about free-range). Both are thin patties.

Have to say, the thing I notice least on a burger is the type of lettuce.

I like Reale's Pizza & Cafe for Italian. They don't fry the eggplant in the eggplant parmesan.

I'm from NJ and Home Slice is my favorite pizza place in Austin. But the last time I was in NJ and NY, I went looking for the great pizza slice, and didn't find anything as good. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I used reviews to locate places. Then again, south Jerseyans supposedly like Saccone's on north 183. Don't care for it at all.

I've mentioned this before, but the best burger I've found, by far, in Austin is the Big Kahuna burger at Kona Grill at the Domain. 12 oz, I order it medium rare and it's pink and juicy inside and charred on the outside. To die for.
Of the basic burger places, P. Terry's is no better than McDonalds, 5 Guys is fair, Mooyah is good, Mighty Fine overcooks it more than half the time, no matter how much I plead. Opening tomorrow by the north Costo is Terra burger. Will try them soon.
