Miami Beach - Big Pink?
It's too bad you had such a bad experience that you will not give it another try.
I can't help but wonder, when you say "last meal" as if you have eaten there before, why you would let one bad dish drive you away, why you would say you "had" a meal that was "inedible," or why you would pay for it. I also wonder what you had and what was wrong with it.
It is common practice at most restaurants to comp or replace an unwanted meal, or both. I can't say I understand what went wrong with your experience.
Also, I have enjoyed Clarke's as well.

You seem to be a fan of Clarke's. :) Of course, Clarke's isn't one block from the beach.
I wont say Big Pink is the height of consistency, but sometimes when you do over a thousand covers, some things slip. The food is 'upscale diner food,' and they deliver. You will have your occasional wrong temperature meat or over seasoned dish, but like any busy restaurant patience is your friend. They will always do what they can to correct any problems.
