Ten out of Ten
I used to go to the original one in North Van but haven't been since moving to Kits. It did have some amazing decor! Now I find them a bit overpriced.
Getting Chili?
Migz is no more... replaced by Yaggers, which has Organic Bison Chorizo Chili listed on the menu.
(small) office Christmas party venue ideas - cocktails/appies format
how about the Refinery on Granville?
Another new pizza place in Kits
Was walking down Broadway (just east of MacDonald) and saw a sign for The Za House. Looks like more pizza. Should open at the same time as Novo. Might have to TOFTT. http://www.thezahouse.com/
ISO downtown Vancouver bakery/cake shop
I'm looking for a bakery or cake shop downtown that serves great quality items. Something along the lines of Thomas Haas, but downtown.
Thanks!
Granville Island or Downtown Restaurant
I don't think blue water is open for lunch, is it?
(edit: my mistake, for some reason I assumed you wanted lunch... in that case, blue water is a great option for dinner)
Granville Island or Downtown Restaurant
As CK said, Go Fish is an option, but be prepared to wait. I've found that the food stalls at Granville Island has become somewhat "food court" ish and you can often do better. Monk McQueens, Coast, Cardero's are some other seafood options.

ISO Inexpensive Cardboard Cupcake Tree for Preschool Easter Party
Hi,
I know you can get them at Cupcakes (downtown, west Broadway, etc), but not sure of the cost.
ISO mini easter baskets and chocolate
I'm looking for mini easter baskets (very small.... a handful of chocolates) as well as chocolates to fill them. I've looked at the typical places (wal mart, zellers, michaels etc) but haven't been able to find small enough baskets.
As for the chocolates, I'm looking for ideas that are different than the usual grocery store offerings.
Thanks,

North Vancouver Restaurant Recommendations
It depends what type of food you're looking for and what budget, but Burgoo is good for comfort food, the Edge Bistro is nice, Bravo Cucina makes good pasta and Mythos for big portions of greek are some options, as well as Mumbai Masala for Indian. North Van is full of questionable sushi restaurants that I would avoid, and there are also the usual Cactus Club, Browns, Milestones if you want casual.

Nicli Antica Pizza
Any word on Nicli Antica? Has it opened yet? I'm dying to see if it's going to add anything fantastic to Vancouver's pathetic pizza scene.
ISO Pita Bread in Kits/Vancouver
Hi Chowhounders,
I'm looking for good quality pita bread, either the skinny kind or the thick kind. I used to buy it for 50 cents a bag from the Iranian store in North Van, but have since moved. It kills me to buy it for $4.00 at Safeway and it's half stale. Any suggestions?

New Uncle Fatih's Pizza
I've always complained about the lack of good pizza in Vancouver in general, and in my neighbourhood in Kits specifically. I stumbled across Uncle Fatih's at Broadway and Commercial one day and found the slices good. I noticed today that a new Uncle Fatih's will be opening at Broadway and Macdonald.
On that note, (and I know there are a few pizza threads already) are there any other decent pizza places in Vancouver?

Help! Need specifics on Vancouver Greek restaurants/bakeries, any North Vancouver eating/food shopping tips, and "must do" Surrey Indian restos/markets
Not a fan of La Regalade. I've been several times in an attempt to convince myself to like it, but no such luck.

North Van... my old stomping grounds....
Tommy's in Lynn Valley is open for breakfast and lunch. It's a tiny hole in the wall across the street from Starbucks.
Raglands on the bottom of Lonsdale is a fun place with good burgers.
Galeria in Edgemont Village makes a mean sandwich but you have to go early or they're sold out (they're good on-the-go lunches for car trips etc)
Mythos on Lonsdale and 19th makes good greek food, as well as Pasparos on 3rd off Lonsdale
The Edge bistro in Edgemont is good for dinner and drinks
Arm's reach in Deep Cove is definitely worth checking out as well
I hope that helps and happy travels!
Best Fish Mongers in Vancouver
If you want to venture to North Van the place at Lonsdale Quay is good. The name is escaping me at the moment but it's across from the salad bar. We've been going there for years.
ISO Large Bodum French Press Vancouver
I'm looking for a large Bodum french press for a christmas gift. I've only been able to find them at the Bay and they're too small. Does anyone know where to get one in the lower mainland?
Sarnies, sammies, butties: whatever you call them, where is your favourite sandwich in Vancouver?
Definitely not on the west side, but Galeria in Edgemont Village in North Van.
Gourmet Version of Peanut-Butter Cups? Anywhere in Vancouver or S. Vanc Island?
Believe it or not, President's Choice (Superstore etc) sells amazing peanut butter cups.
Kitsilano Take Out
I'm looking for take out in the kitsilano/west side area. We just brought our new baby home, and in addition to a 2 and 4 year old, cooking has become obscelete, at least for now.
Thanks in advance!
Corn Tortillas Vancouver
I'm looking to buy some good quality tortillas to make enchiladas. I live in Kits but I'll go anywhere in the GVRD to get them. Thanks :)
Lunch Downtown with picky guests
I'm taking some family out for lunch but there are restrictions: It has to be relatively quick (Hour and a half absolute maximum). My brother in law is very picky and eats plain things (wont eat cheese, mushrooms, etc etc) but he eats a lot so the portions need to be decent. It needs to be in the downtown core (stanley, st laurent, st catherine, pins boundaries). Not picky about price, or formality. Casual is fine, or nicer, whatever. Any ideas?
BYOW open on Sunday
Any good BYOWs open on Sundays? Any type of restaurant, except the dumpy ones on the Prince Arthur strip. Thanks!
One night in Montreal
I'm looking for a place for dinner in downtown Montreal or old port. We only have one night, so I want to make it good. I'm going to be with someone who has never been to Quebec, so I'm hoping for something different than we'd find in Vancouver. Our budget is mid-range, and we're up for pretty much anything other than a steakhouse. Thanks
