We just returned from a week-long trip to Nantucket and got a chance to try several different places. Maybe I'll do a separate post outlining my thoughts on all - but I want to note here that Brick Bistro was disappointing. The food was ok, but no where near the best we had on the island, and perhaps, relative to the type of place, the worst. The experience overall was weird. The bar where we met our friends had like 5 seats. We'd been told the bartender was great - but it was nothing special. The dining room was slick and formal and seemed really at odds with Nantucket as a whole and, specifically, the casual vibe put out by the waitstaff. Our waiter was weirdly casual and annoying, bordering on rude. Food service was slow and mixed up. I thought the menu was not cohesive. I probably made bad choices, as my sister's steak frites was really good. But we were just coming off a night at American Seasons where I couldn't have made a bad choice, even if I'd tried. There were only ports on the dessert wine menu. The menu also had a note that an additional basket of bread was $2 per person. Hello? The owner/manager saying, "We really appreciate you coming" couldn't make up for that lameness.

I believe this Apple Barn Farm is a venue only - a very pretty one! However, they recommend caterers (you can see a list on the site). When I read your post, I remembered the photos I had seen on this site, and thought it could be right up your alley. The events look stylish and bucolic - low-key with a lot of elegant touches - "rustic chic," as you said. Please note, I cannot recommend this place, as I've never dealt with them.
