101 Noodle Express Beef Roll with Pics

I am a fan of the beef rolls at 101 Noodle Express. They also reheat well in a toaster oven and sometimes I like to get an extra order for lunch the next day.

Chung King, San Gabriel - revisited

My last visit to Chung King was also disappointing. The dishes don't taste the same and are not as spicy as they used to be.

Any good Italian or French Restaurants in LA area?

I don't have a suggestion, but I do have a place that you should avoid: Il Caprricio on Vermont. You can read more at http://pinkfoodie.blogspot.com/2009/06/il-capriccio-los-feliz.html

Porto's Burbank vs. Glendale

I always prefer the Burbank location especially if I want to sit outside. I also enjoy the open layout of the Burbank location. I haven't noticed a difference in quality of food.

Buca di Beppo, but not? Where?

The Gardens of Taxco offers good Mexican cuisine and has a spoken menu "...like the chicken was born in the sauce." Unfortunately they are not open for lunch, but if your plans change, it's a good place to keep in mind.

I contemplated going to Dolce after hearing about their 50% off discount, but I am glad I did not go after reading your report.

Leona cherry picking! Who's got the best fruit?

They are amazing. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Thanks for the tip. I deleted the extra period. :)

Leona cherry picking! Who's got the best fruit?

Hi Mr. Taster - I was at Copeland's Cherry Ranch, and they are not officially open for cherry picking due to losing 90% of their crop this year, but they have the most amazing Utah Giants. The owners were nice enough to let us walk around and pick some cherries, so it wouldn't hurt to ask if you stop by. Just posted a blog about it if you want to check it out http://pinkfoodie.blogspot.com/2009/06/copelands-cheery-ranch-leona-valley.html

ISO: korean bbq for a group

Try Gui Il Bun Ji. I was there with a group of 12 and they sat us in a semi "private" area. Good all you can eat for $16.99 last time i checked.

Hi Mr Taster,

Thanks for the background on night markets and the video introduction. I hope that the market is in fact back. I would love to experience it.

Return of Garfield/Garvey night market...?

I've never heard of the night market. It sounds interesting though. Any idea what time it starts? Might be worth the drive over there just to check.

Looking for soft serve ice cream tasting frozen yogurt in Hollywood NOT Pinkberry!

I second Studio Yogurt. The flavors change Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. You can call in to see which flavors they have. Cookies n Cream is one of my favorites.

Korean food for visiting Koreans who have been starved of good Korean food the last 4 months

Maybe you can take her to Gui Il Bun Ji. It's an AYCE spot and it's $16.99pp since I last went. The food is good and difficult to communicate without taking someone who speaks Korean.

Zucca, Chaya, Liberty Grill, Church & State or ??

I've only been to Zucca and the food was mediocre. I've heard great things about Church & State and that would probably be my pick.

Peanut butter at Costco

I've always been able to reach someone by calling the number. If you select membership services you will always get someone and they can transfer you to another person to check the item for you.

Peanut butter at Costco

I saw them at the Costco on Los Feliz about two weeks ago I believe. I would give them a call to make sure they still have it in stock.

Are there any outstanding bars in SO CAL?

El Carmen is a cool spot. It's a drive though. They specialize in tequilas and have a very good selection.

picnic at hollywood bowl

If you call Artisan Cheese Gallery on Ventura in Studio City and tell them you are planning a nice picnic for the Hollywood Bowl, they will be more than happy to suggest some ideas. Many people in the area go to Artisan for their Hollywood bowl picnic needs. :)

Good Fried Chicken

Not in the south bay, but if you make it to the SFV you should try the fried chicken at Les Sisters in Chatsworth. The food takes a while and everything is made to order. We did have a bad experience with the service last time. The waitress forgot to put in our order for fried crawfish.

Street Food Wedding!

Bacon wrapped hot dogs are what I think of when it comes to LA street foods. It would be delicious!!

NY Pizza near Burbank, does it exist?

I've never been to NY, but I like the sausage pizza at NYPD. It's on San Fernando Road in Burbank.
