Burger King Burger - Kind of Gross I recall they got bought out back in 2009-2010. New management might be the issue. |

Gourmet fruit jelly candies in NYC? Not exactly made in house, but Dean & Deluca in SoHo has a nice selection of packaged candy jellies; including some rather pricey imports. |

Crap, just saw the note about the age of this post. Maybe it's time for a new thread on Manganaro... |
I get Uncle Nick's delivery now and again. It is serviceable. I would strongly suggest Turco, a "fast food" Meditteranean concept on 43rd & 9th. The food is very good, as are the prices. You should really skip Manganaro's and go to Sergimmo on 35th & 9th. Their sandwiches and prepared goods are very good. |

New job 31st & Ninth - tasty lunch and dinner suggestions? Well, you can walk up to Sergimmo on 9th between 35th and 36th for great Italian deli food. Manganaro Hero Boy one block north makes decent sandwiches, and a new Neapolitan pizza place opened up next door. If you head over 29th and 8th, Uncle Nick's makes serviceable Greek food. Otherwise, you can always walk to 7th Ave., where there are no shortage of options. |

I imagine you are referring to the Chinese Consulate on 43rd and 12th Ave. Between that location and Penn there are not many great pizza joints. Totally second NY Pizza Suprema. If you are looking for "authentic" New York pizza this is an excellent option. If you are seeking more Neapolitan style try Capizzi on 40th and 9th. They have a wood burning oven and make great pies. |

Best/worst deals at Whole Foods? Gotta say, butter is $3.49/pound here in Manhattan. Compared to FreshDirect, Food Emporium, and Fairway it is the best price. |
Anyone know where I can get fresh baby corn in Manhattan? Below 59th would be best, but I am flexible. |
Maybe try Esposito's on 37th & 9th. They have a wide range of game birds it seems. |
You may want to give Sea Breeze on 40th & 9th a shot. |
Help, being forced to go to Olive Garden. The Bruschetta is actually really normal and totally fine. It is listed as an appetizer, but large enough for an entree. I like to get that, a salad and a big beer and call it a day. |
The black & white at Junior's. It outshines the cheesecake. |
Yup, I head upstate from Manhattan once a month to visit family. I'll be heading by Hot Bagel tomorrow, but they were still great last month. |

Chelsea - W. 30th - Reasonbale bu good food Also Mexicue right next to Hale & Hearty. There is a 5 Guys there as well. |
Chelsea - W. 30th - Reasonbale bu good food I wouldn't recommend Frying Pan in that price range either. You are looking more deli/bar food range for that price. Hale & Hearty between 29th & 30th on 7th is a good stand-by for soups/salads. |

Saw the Times did a review of this place; anyone been? Menu looks a little pedestrian, but the chef seems to have a good pedigree, and the price is right; plus, it is BYO! |
Superlative food in Bergen County? You should try Wild Wasabi in Norwood. It is just a little hole-in-the-wall place, but the sushi is exceptional. I live in Manhattan now, and still return for the sushi. Actually it is quite depressing, the state of sushi in Manhattan... |
You should check the grocery store attached to Stiles Market on 41st & 9th. Or Tehuitzingo on 47th & 10th (Mexican, not Venezuelan but there may be a comparable product). |
Just out of curiosity, do you keep them in the freezer? Dual does, so I figured I would as well. Just wondering what common practice is. |
Nespresso in SOHO has excellent espresso and macchiato. Just don't try to get anything to go. |
Anyone tried it? I have no gluten allergy, but really like Dominos' thin-crust and wonder how this compares. It might be nice to have that same cracker-thin crust with a little flavor. |
Pop Burger (9th Avenue/Chelsea) review Well, written. Sorry to hear about the food. |
You may want to try Ninth Avenue International Foods on 40th and 9th. |

Anyone Try Those New Dunkin' Donuts "Deli" Sandwiches? Not sure if I trust chipotle sauce from Dunkin Donuts? Anyone take the leap? |

Mooncake Foods, 月餅 (Yuebing) A Restaurant with Inventive Menu of Asian Fusion I have the good fortune to leave near the Watts St. location and work on the same block as the Midtown location; so I know my Mooncake. The pulled pork sandwich is AWESOME! For $9.50 you get a tremendous amount of pork in a great BBQ sauce. I also enjoy the meatball hero and pork chop sandwich. I have had the beef curry stew several times, and find it good (not great) for the price. Hands-down, the best part of the meal is the super super spicy green sauce they give. Ask for extra and pop it in the fridge. Overall, a truly solid meal. If they sold the green sauce at WF I would be in heaven. |

Anyone know where I can get a nicely done Angry Birds cake or cupcakes? Ideally below 14th St. |
Little Cupcake Bakery on Prince & Mott. Wide assortment of cakes, cupcakes and pastries; cakes sold by the slice. They have a few tables where you can hang out, or walk down to the park on Spring and Mulberry. ----- |

Jeez...it has been a long time since that first post. I make it to the Nyack area once a month and make a point to swing by Baumgart's Englewood every time. I'm not sure I want to blow my month opportunity for Massuman Curry with chicken and brown rice. @JR: Any opinions on the food? |

How Can I Make Cheap Scotch Palatable Anyone in Manhattan want to trade for some scotch? |
How Can I Make Cheap Scotch Palatable Let me preface this post by saying: I do not like/appreciate scotch. Recently, my mother came across about 35 bottles of cheap, old scotch from my grandfather's liquor store-owning days. Mostly it is Dewars, J & B, and some off brands like Old Smuggler. So I inherited all this scotch, but I really don't like it. Any ideas on mixers/cocktails/anything I can do to make this scotch drinkable to a non-scotch lover? |
