what about Estadio? I've been to Jaleo, don't think it's that great :)

Also...I know Zaytinya would be a good option, but they don't take reservations (only walk ups) at this point...so let me know if you have other ideas!

Hip place to bring parents Friday night?

My parents are coming to DC for their annual visit, and I need to make a res somewhere on Friday night. I love my parents, but hate choosing restaurants for them. I obviously like to go out to eat as well, so I'd like for it to be somewhere fun for me to try too!

Reqs:
-Full bar, fun atmosphere
-Must take reservations, they will freak if they need to wait more than 10 mins
-Moderately priced - $20-25 for an entree is ideal...not a place where entrees are consistently above $30
-Not sushi, not entirely seafood (dad is "allergic"), not Indian, or French
-Parents like American, tapas, Spanish/Latin, Asian influenced (just not sushi), Mediterranean. They like those flavor profiles, but nothing that is too stuffy or "weird"/gourmet or rich (hence no French)
-Location...coming from Arlington and would like to go out in DC, pretty much anywhere in the city is fine except for far away neighborhoods like SW, etc

Thanks for your help!

Parents in town, semi-picky, moderate priced...help! I've included all my Reqs :)

Thanks all....I really wanted to do Zaytinya, but they were already all booked up for this weekend when I checked on Monday. So, we're doing Oyamel on Friday night, and Present on Saturday night. Heard great things about Present!

Parents in town, semi-picky, moderate priced...help! I've included all my Reqs :)

Hello -

Parents are coming to town this weekend and I would LOVE recs for Fri and Sat nights. Requirements:

Location: Arlington, VA or DC location (Gtown, Downtown, Dupont, Chinatown...not farther out from Arlington like Adam's Morgan, etc)

Price: Entrees $15-$25...nothing TOO expensive

Acceptable Cuisines: American, Mexican, Asian-inspired (Thai, etc..but not sushi), Mediterranean, and/or Italian. Parents like food but aren't "foodies" so they won't do anything too gourmet/"weird". Dad won't eat seafood (no sushi)....it's okay that the restaurant has seafood but shouldn't be the main draw.

Atmosphere: Parents are fun, like to drink (so should have full bar and not only beer/wine). Shouldn't be stuffy. Should honor reservations, parents do not like waiting in line or waiting for a table for more than 15 mins :(

THANK YOU!

SEI vs. Zengo?

Are these two restaurants comparable/similar? I've been to Zengo (which I LOVED) but not SEI. At first glance it looks like they both have sushi and small plates, nice atmosphere, and similar price points...but I'm wondering if they are more different than I think. My sister is in town visiting from LA and we want to go to a fun, delicious dinner. We would probably order both sushi and small plates so I'd be interested in hearing feedback for both food choices and overall atmosphere/experience. Thanks!!

Good Restaurants in Vienna, Virginia

I LOVE Skorpio's....great greek food and really good chicken fingers :)

Cenan's Bakery is AWESOME for lunch, really good subs and baked goods. Next to Baskin Robbins.

DC, Fun atmosphere, moderately priced entrees?

My younger sister is coming to visit from LA, and I'm in need of some restaurant recommendations:

-Moderately priced, around $15-$20 entrees
-Fun, trendy and/or lively atmosphere
-Areas of DC...Georgetown, Downtown, Dupont, Chinatown (probably not "farther" out like Adams Morgan etc coming from Arlington)
-Flexibly on cuisine, but always like Asian, Tapas, American, etc...

Thank you!!
