Abigael's is GREAT! My observant cousins took me there last night and the service and food were wonderful. I had the sesame encrusted salmon...yum!

Mary O's on Ave A

I really like it. Mary O is charming, and the food is great--try the chicken pot pie!

Tavern on Nostrand now Crow Hill in Crown Heights

Hi,

My gf and I went to Crow Hill on Saturday, and had two pasta dishes. She had the fettucine alfredo with chicken, and I had the pasta primavera with shrimp.

She found the fettucine creamy and the chicken tender, and I mowed through the primavera. It was _stuffed_ with fresh, crisp vegetables and a chunky tomato sauce with a good, but not overwhelming kick.

The service was friendly and effective, and the owner (manager?) came over and chatted pleasantly after we finished eating.

Crow Hill is at 813 Nostrand Avenue, between Union and President.

Nostrand Tavern

I ate at Tavern on Nostrand with my girlfriend on Saturday. I had the fried chicken and she had the roast chicken. It was very good, and I am in love with the mac n cheese side. The waitress was sweet but didn't understand what beer "on tap" is, apparently. Also, the bartender and a couple of patrons were watching a LOUD action movie on the TV, and it was a bit of a mood-killer and not in tune with the decor and ambience. We will go back, but hope that the TV choice will be not so intrusive.

New Latin Places in Inwood

I've eaten at Guadalupe twice in the last three weeks, and while the service has been sweet but slow, the 15% gratuity is gone from the bill, and the drinks are very nicely sized. The food is still faboo--try the salt beef tacos!

zuppa-yonkers-horrible

Things apparently have changed in the last two years. It has been outstanding in the last couple of months.

Recs in Yonkers

New Latin Places in Inwood

This week two new restaurants opened--Guadalupe on West 207th, east of Broadway; and Mamajuana's on Dyckman Street, west of Broadway. They both look beatiful and have interesting menus--anyone try either yet?

Lobster Dinners or Lobster Rolls in Manhattan

Tracks in Penn Station has a very good raw bar, and a substantial lobster roll with seasoned fries for $16.95. It's downstairs next to the LIRR ticket windows. Walk past the bar to the dining room.
