Casual South Beach near south of 5th

Wow - I am really surprised how many restaurants have closed this past year. There is another Sylvano's on Alton and 7th or 8th - i think if you are looking for a weeknight casual dinner.

Casual South Beach near south of 5th

Here are some ideas...

Joe's Takeaway - my favorites are the seafood bisque, onion rings, fried oysters, and stone crabs
Clarke's - good burgers, pub fare
Sylvano's - good, casual italian
Primo Pizza - awesome pizza by the slice or the whole pie. Closest thing to NY pizza around.

Make sure you hit the new park at South Pointe - it's a great place to take a walk or go for a picnic.

I'd love to know if anyone else knows some more places....

Houston's Restaurant - feedback please

They have a great veggie burger if your dining companions aren't carnivores. It actually looks like a hamburger - I am guessing they use beets to give it a red color.

Good Ice Cream

It's not in Hollywood but it's so worth the drive. Go to the Frieze in Miami Beach on Michigan off Lincoln Road. I think it's the best ice cream ever! I can't stand Jaxsons - to me, it's quantity over quality.

Coral Gables-short report

I agree - for miami - it's great sushi.

Great Sunday brunch in Broward county?

I have never been but River House in Ft. Lauderdale is supposed to have a nice brunch. I can't vouch for quality though....

What's your favorite box cookie

Pepperidge Farm Ginger Man
Graham Crackers - is that considered a cookie?
Fig Newtons
Nilla Wafers

Group Dining, Ft. Lauderdale, Wilton Manor?

I second the Galanga recommendation. Everything I have had there is great and the service is super friendly.

Casa Juancho might be a fun place to take your class. Too bad they won't be able to get the sangria!
