Ideas for my college son and his girlfriend...5 days in Paris in June. Calling all you romantics out there!
My son is graduating from college in a few weeks and as a graduation gift he is going to Paris (and Capri!!!!) with his girlfriend.
I would appreciate any suggestions for great restaurants (where wouldnt feel out of place...and out of pocket too much)....
for all your romantics out there....any ideas???
P.S. So you know he is a romantic...and a great son..the last time he was in Paris...for just 2 days...he went to Laduree and Berlin, Dallas and home to LA.
So I am hoping for some great ideas.

hi all,
A friend and in love papa Christos....so good, so much meat...and if we stay away from the bread, it is soooo healthy.
But we canny meet on Mondays....can't do another el cholo....it's not a margarita lunch and el cholos food is far from healthy.
Can you help! We can drive a mile or so, but where we can meet is right by where papa Christos is...so Pico and Normandie

you are right on the 5 miles equals ! hour...or more just to drive that in bad traffic.
let's say less than 2 miles. need: easy to park around, healthy food and not too spicy, less than $15 out the door, sit down eating...without a long wait for a table.
Looking for good lunch places by Pico and Western...or within 5 miles of that area,,,but not downtown
we are trying to find places with easy parking and healthy food to meet for lunch in that area.
We love Papa Christos (lots of tables, easy parking, quick in and out) and tolerate El Cholo...but hoping there are gems around and about where a fellow co-worker and I can meet up to "talk work" and eat during the workday.

i love Orris on sawtelle. was jsut there last nite and everything was soooo delicious. I would love to go with a group for my birthday but it doesn't feel "sepcial" if that is what you want.
It has a nice with heaters patio and the food (all small plates) is consistently incredible and always delciious

Tasting menu for birthday dinner
just ate last nite at orris on sawtelle. the "during the week" tastin gmenu was awesome and so reasonable...i think 25/person w/o wine but they have wine suggestions and so many wines by the glass
the carpaccio and the apple tarte tartin with ice cream and caramel sauce was incredible (actually EVERYTHING) was delicious as usual. they have the outdoor heated patio that would be a great spot to "take over"

My daughter is in Paris for just 2 more nites. She is just graduated from high school, so the budget is small.
Can you recommend a few great great restauraunts for them. Nothing adventurous, just fabulous food and charming ambiance. Hurry its almost dinnertime in Paris as i type.
She is staying in the Marais but those girls will go anywhere for great food

what about pizzicotto in brentwood they have an upstairs small area and the food is very reasonable and soooo good
Rent a large paella pan & burner?
i had the paella project, andriana do a paella dinner fo rme. she was fabulous. the food was delicious. she had all the right equipment, my friends were all blown away. i also think it ended up being cheaper than getting all the ingredients and equipment myself. call her immediately.
i intead of sweating over the cooking spent time making the table pretty and actually enjoyed my party and my guests

I am hoping to get ideas for a pretty patio spot where i can have my daughter's graduation luncheon in Santa Monica or Brentwood. We will be about 15-20 people.
Chez Mimi is always lovely but would like to consider all options before we decide. Wilshire may be too"hip" but maybe not...any other ideas?

Mommie helens sounds perfect except that i live in the palisades...but i am going to get out there sometime soon to check her pies out.
In the meantime, do you know the name of the pie seller at the hollywood farmers mkt as i think a 5 day old pie might be a little mushy..and maybe they sell at a mkt later in the week, closer to christmas day.
my backup is the babalu berry pie/cobbler which i think is awesome tho a bit tart.
