suzanne's in ojai about 7 year's ago (awesome service and my squab was "finger-licking" good which i did while smacking my lips -- i know, so rude, but i couldn't help it the food was soooo good!); also, urasawa - omg!! such creativity and attention to detail, chef urasawa is a sushi god!!!

My top 5 favorite restaurants:
katsu-ya (skip the sushi - order from the board), urasawa, valention and ortolan for perfectly paired meals, din tai fung (haven't tried the other dumpling places that are supposed to be good); geoffrey's for the amazing view and relaxing vibe (we generally take 2 to 3-1/2 hour lunches with drinks); shin shen gumi yakitori; ok that's more than 5 and i still have MORE!
