Looking for a reasonable place to eat in Reno, NV

No, not specifically for dowtown locations, we have a car to get around in. Thanks for all the input.

Looking for a reasonable place to eat in Reno, NV

We're staying at Harrah's and wanted to know of some reasonable places, even late night dining to try in Reno. Chinese, steakhouse, mexican, late night breakfast food.

Rome - Need Suggestions for 4 Dinners

We went to Ristorante La Carbonara and wasn't too impressed with their Carbonara. The one we make at home is better (foodnetwork recipe). Campo de'l fiori market is a nice produce market, mornings only.

Rome - Looking for the seafood ristorante we went to near La Nazionale

It's been several years, but we were recommended by our maitre from Mercenante Hotel about a restaurant north of the hotel. The cross street was La Nazionale. We order a plate of tiny clams. It was so good.

Restaurants in Rome near Mecenate Palace

Thanks for all the info. We will definitely taxi to some areas because it was tiring the last time we went, we walked to all the sights. The hotel guy gave us very good suggestions for dinner, but we couldn't remember the seafood place off of La Nationalize not far from Mecenante. You could get a whole plate of baby clams, very reasonable.

las vegas - best spot in caesars?

Although the prices are in the $14 to $16 range, Serenidity 3 in front of Caesars had really good portions for the price. Do not, unless you get a "free one" from Expedia's summer deals order the "frozen hot chocolate" drink, it's not worth $14 by itself. I would definitely recommend the pizza and caesar salad with croutons the "size of the car fuzzy dice" for a party of three. Tip: go early to avoid the wait outside in the 100+ weather.

Going to Las Vegas next week - comments needed - moved from California board

We had the Summer meal deal from kokomo's, but I also order their Lobster Bisque. It was wonderful but filling. It was alittle pricey though. The bill with drinks and the $29.99 for five was $650.

I'l Mulino's free appetizers were the best things on the table. Everything else was overpriced. $50 - $75 for the specials was way overpriced for the amount of food you got. We were already full before the meals came out. The swordfish plate was the same
as fish market in the bay area and it costed $28.

We didn't go to Sushi Roku and went to Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in the Caesars forum and it was the most inexpensive restaurant, good food that whole time we were in Vegas.

Las Vegas Trip Report- Sushi Roku,LOS, L'Atelier

so, the bottom line was we didn't go to Sushi Roku because of the negative comments and was told that was a good idea we didn't go. We, however, go to Il Mulino at Caesars, it was very expensive and we ordered way too much for five of us. The lobster special was $70 and the porcini ravilois were $50 (was very tasty but filling with the cream sauce) and we had to pay a captain's fee as well as the tip.
The total cost was $670. Spliting meals is the way to go that this place if you have $$$ to burn.

Thanks Maria, it was very informative and funny too.

any happy hour places on Sunday or Monday next week in Napa or Sonoma?

Going to be staying in Napa this weekend and wanted to know if there were places to go on a student's budget.

7th Annual Dine about Town 2008 - what are you going to try?

We tried Horizon on Broadway during the June DAT, it was the worse food we ever had. First, they said the menu on the website was last years and weren't serving the steak - so do they change it, no! I told them my husband does not eat fish so they compromised but only let him order it. I get the portabello mushroom on polenta. It was the worse combination of polenta w gorgonzolaI ever tasted.

Kirala in Berkeley - recipe for cream sauce for seafood

Does anyone know the recipe they use for their grilled shrimp and grilled squid? I got the recipe a long time ago from the chef that used to work there. The ingredients include:
Tobiko, soy sauce, garlic and whipping cream

7th Annual Dine about Town 2008 - what are you going to try?

So, has anyone tried Horizon Restaurant and Lounge for the DAT? We're planning on going there tonight.

7th Annual Dine about Town 2008 - what are you going to try?

The DAT food was good at Lark Creek except for the radiccihio salad that came along with the steak, it was way too bitter for me to eat.
Just a FYI - do not go to Kyo-ya for DAT lunch. First, even with a reservation, they ran out of the DAT lunches and when we got the food that was similar to the DAT lunch, the salmon was dry and cold and it wasn't enough food to be an appetizer let alone a complete lunch. Wasn't worth the wait or the money.

Has anyone tried Waterfront DAT yet? We're planning on going tomorrow.

Any good happy hour places around the finanical district?

Just went to Palomino's with some co-workers last week, great happy hour food, but the service was the worse we've ever encountered. $5 pizzas and $5 drinks (eg. mojitos)
before 6 p.m., but we tried getting the waitress attention for 1/2 an hour to order and
waited another 1/2 hour for her to come back to let us know that they couldn't make a Ramos Fizz. AND, another 40 minutes before we were served. Do not order the fried calamari either - Fuzio's is better and cheaper for the price.

Any good happy hour places around the finanical district?

Two has $2 (very) small bar bites from 4-6 and the menu changes daily. I didn't care for the liverwurst on brown bread, but the two tiny crab cakes were tasty. They do not have alot of choices for appetizers on their happy hour menu, but the best deal is the 300 ml house wine for $5. I could barely ride my bike home after that. It's not advertised, but instead of a glass of house wine for the same price you can get 2 1/2 glasses. But, who's counting.

Maya's happy hour is okay, you get a tiered platter of free appetizers, 8 chips w black bean dip and one tiny tamale, one quesadilla and the fruit muddled Mojitos are $5, but I was still hungry.

Thanks, I'll check it out and let you know.

Any good happy hour places around the finanical district?

Thanks for all the info, I checked out Palador, it only has tapas on Thurs and Fridays and only open for lunch Mon thru Wed. Alittle to pricy for what you got.

We're getting tired of the same Fuzio's happy hour and wanted to find out if there were any others to check out. Thanks.

Drink places near Fisherman's Wharf or the Cannery

Sorry for the late reply - yes, I would definitely recommend Bistro Boudin
for a nice place to go and eat or sit in the bar and people watch.

Inexpensive but local foods near Portland Airport

inexpensive but local foods near Portland
Visiting Portland for only a week and I am looking for any good, inexpensive local restaurants near Portland, and "PDX-an" foods to being back with me. Any fish markets to buy reasonable lobster/seafood a plus.

reasonable lunch places around Portland airport/Gresham?

Any good reasonable lunch places around Portland airport/town of Gresham?

The Best Pho in San Mateo?

try the noodle place in the Marina Market, it's not bad and you can get some roasted pork or char siu to go with it.

Santa Ramen still rockin'

I hate to disagree, but I'm not willing to dish out $10 for ramen. Ringo Hut is just as
good (Santa Clara) and half the price.

Haven't found any inexpensive eats in Torrance/Gardena

We tried Bob's Okazuya (it's listed as Bob's Ohana in the phone book), the ox tail soup was the best. Just like the bowling alley kine in Hawaii. $8.95, but worth it, comes w a bowl of rice and ginger and chinese parsley condiments.

Haven't found any inexpensive eats in Torrance/Gardena

We went to Shin-Sen-Gumi, great yakitori place, but don't go there if you think it's going to be a quiet place to eat. Reasonable prices, good beer, but not enough food to fill your stomach.
