Breakfast in Nelson, B.C.

Thanks for the recomendation! We ended up at the Twisted Tomato (they don't have a breakfast menu on their website but serve it until 2pm on Saturday and Sunday) http://www.twistedtomatopizza.com. It was really delicious and next time I am in Nelson I will make sure to go back there and try more of their food.

Sushi help!

My favourite place for Sushi in Vancouver will always be The Eatery. It is a totally crazy, kitchsy, busy place with unforgettable and unique sushi. Totally one of a kind. They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait but the prices are good too.

If anyone knows of a good place to have breakfast on a Saturday morning in Nelson please let me know. I am also interested in Sunday brunch suggestions.

Thanks very much!

Steakhouse - Calgary

Alas we did not end up at Parkerhouse, but instead went with a standby favorite: Redwater. Service and food were fantastic as always. Steak snobs went home happy :)

Sounds awesome! I have chosen the Parkerhouse and I will let you know how the "steak snobs" felt about it :)

Steakhouse - Calgary

Hi all, I have friends in from out of town who are huge steak snobs. Last time they were here I took them to my favorite restaurant, Le Villa, which in my opinion has some of the best steaks/prime rib in the city. I want to take them some where different this time, but I am drawing a blank. Any suggestions? No price limit. Thanks!

Vero Bistro excellent addition to Kensington

I was there in January 2009 for the Tapas menu on a Saturday night and it was great! 3 friends and I shared a bottle of wine, 5 tapas and an "urban drink" for sharing and paid about $30 each. We had a great waitress who reccomended the wine, which was very nice. The tapas we had were: vegtable tempura, black truffle goat cheese, shrimp balls, smoked salmon flat bread and panko breaded prawns. They were all excellent. The only complaint I had was that the portion sizing on the goat cheese was too small to share between two people, let alone three. All other portion sizes were great. It seems like people have had good tapas experiences but not good dinner experiences. I will have to go for dinner and post.

Oops sorry, I did make a boo boo. There is only one Nando's in Calgary: the one in the NE by Sunridge.

Peri Peri Sauce - Calgary

Hi I recently ate at Nando's Chicken in the N.W. and would like to know if there is anywhere closer to my area (S.W.) where I could purchase an already made Peri Peri Sauce. I would try to make it myself, but I am a bit of a lazy chef :) Thanks!
