Good Hot Buffalo Wings in Westchester or Putnam?

McGuire's on Main in Cold Spring has amazing wings! I think their website is

Quick take out in ossining/croton

PJ Kelly's in Peekskill Closing

Yes, Kelly's has been taken over by someone else. Seamus Quigley is the new owner. I'm not sure what will be the same and what will be new, but i do know they have been on a crazy cleaning frezy. Whatever it becomes, i wish him all the luck, it's not the best time for this industry.

Augie's Prime Cut-Mohegan Lake?

My daughter and I ate there. After reading some of the posts we opted to dine early as to beat the rush. We were walkins with no reservation but had no problem getting a table. We split an appetizer of Shrimp cocktail, both had the smallest cut of prime rib, and both had dessert. I had a glass of wine and my daughter had a soda. The whole bill.... under $80. I felt it was well worth the price and had no problems with the service either.

Westchester value wedding

Cortlandt Colonial in Peekskill does a great job for the price. I'm sure you could get a date within that price range. I believe the sons name is Evan (Pretty sure he handles all party venues now). Good luck to you!

X20 Xaviar's on the Hudson

I went Last friday night... opted for a later reservation so that we wouldn't have to deal with crowds and noise. It ended up being a great move! Service was great and we weren't rushed out the door.
For appetizers we had lobster crepe and scallop sushi. The lobster crepe was browned perfectly, giving it just enough crisp but not making it tasted like a tortilla, and stuffed with an ample amount of fresh lobster (also beautifully garnished). the scallops were very thinly sliced and served with thinly sliced cuccumbers that just the scent of them alone was enough to tickle your palet.
For dinner we had the Ahi Tuna encrusted with puffed rice, again wonderful and the sirloin steak. Dinner portions were more than enough for both of us but did leave just enough room to indulge in dessert. I also asked for a side of risotto that was prepared with fresh horseradish and scallions. THAT.... could be the new food that I eat my weight in!
Dessert was the best butterscotch pudding that I have ever had.
Overall, a remarkable dinning experience..... can't wait to return!

Bear Mountain & Points North

I.m a big Cold Spring advocate! Great town with great food. Favorite breakfast place is The Foundry they serve breakfast only until 11am. Prices are very reasonable. A MUST HAVE are the belgian waffles.... definately big enough for two!

Little Sorrento's (Yorktown)

Driving up dismal route 202 on Saturday, I was pleased to see a packed parking lot at Little Sorrento"s. Courious.. we went in, and to our surprise a waiting list for a table at 9:15 pm! A middle of the road (Price point) Italian restaurant that seemed to not be devistated by the economy.Kudos to all the local supporters. Two glasses of wine, two appetizers, and two large portioned dinners only a little over $50. Not bad for a Saturday night out. If you go, make sure to try the asparagus ravioli!

Looking for outdoor lunch in northern westchester...any recs?

I have yet to go there, but have spoken to a good amount of people who enjoy the restaurant also!

Looking for outdoor lunch in northern westchester...any recs?

Cold Spring has a number of great outdoor places.... The Foundry Cafe for breakfast or brunch. The belgian waffles are a must! The Riverview is off the beaten trail of Main Street, it can be found on Stone Street ( I believe) and can be as casual or elegant with the dining as you want, a very diversified menu. The bread pudding is a must there! It's a little pricey but worth every penny. At the bottom of Main Street is The Hudson House but they have minimal outside dining. Cold Spring parking is an issue in the peak months, so, give yourself some time or take the train.

best bread pudding in Westchester, NY area

Sorry to say that i haven't found a great bread pudding yet in Westchester! However, a small trek into Cold Spring there is a restaurant called Riverview that I haven't been able to top yet! The dessert is a little pricey (I think about $9.50) but well worth every penny. It is served hot , which I have yet to get hot anywhere else yet, and I believe it has a carmel-bourbon sauce over it. You'll be very happy if you make the trip!

Northern Westchester AKA Chowhound wasteland!

Cole' Market in Montrose is a good market, a little pricey but a nice selection of meats and seafood are available. They also have off premises catering available.
